2015 has some good fighters, but no way in hell does 22 plus years of nutrition and conditioning coaches make a not-a-damn-F'n-difference for the MW's of today.

Lookin' back on it, I'd say our generation had it pretty good huh? I mean great list of warriors for anyone at least 10 years of age in 1992- would know- That was a kick ass list!

Hahah, hardly a contest. 1992 is a bunch of killers ffs, pretty much an all star team. From todays crop you could only really give GGG a chance against half of those guys and we'd still have no benchmark really. I don't think Cotto or Quillin could beat anyone on that list truthfully.

Fun post. When did did RJJ move up in weight? Was this just after he beat Hopkins?

It's a bummer that with that deep of a division in 1992 that we didn't see more match-ups of top guys. Am I right?

James Toney vs Cotto would've been special. It's not like JT runs from anyone. Yet he had lapses where he didn't always show up. A bit bias for Cotto, so I'd pick him over Lamar Parks & Reggie Johnson.

Special like Roy Jones vs Manny PAcquiao would have been? I don't think Cotto could have done anything at all to James at 160, or Reggie Johnson either, who was a really good fighter. He made a good move in fighting MArtinez and looked good there, but let's not get carried away... He's not far removed from getting shut out by Austin TRout at 154, and that's arguably the last capable boxer he faced.

#10 Steve Collins I can't see 92' with too much to worry about. Its tough to rank Cotto as he won't even make the complete step up but Kalamby works him out as does Johnson. The only one iffy is Kid Fire Parks. Really think if Lee landed a couple haymakers Parks would be in a bad way. The Murray who was granite & gonads vs Golovkin might even grind him down.

Gatta agree. Looking at how it stacks up, GGG and Cotto may be the only guys that can actually be competitive with some of the guys from 92. For sure they beat Parks and Kalumbay (maybe)...lolol...

Exactly, at the time these guys were young- we knew they were something special- we just didnt know how special they would all become. Today's guys is kinda iffy.
