Not even close.
I had given up on boxing and all the hype for this fight and it flopped IMO.
Major disappointment.
Like Steward said, Mayweather is good but not great. DLH tried but I think he needs to retire.
BTW, I feel robbed.

I thought ODH gave it all he had and tried to give the fans what they came for.
Like he said, without him pressuring, there would have not been a fight.
Stewards just jealous if he had him he would be great but he has'nt his uncle Roger has man what a trainer
Anybody who was expecting a brawl hasn't been paying attention to boxing.
the fight a very interesting and i couldn't take my eyes off it for a second. I'm glad the judges weren't fooled by ODLH attempts to look busy when hardly any shots landed. Mayweather landed all the quality shots and shook Oscar a few times (best shot of the fight came when mayweather lifted Oscars chin up and cracked him just before the bell) very impressed with PBF good solid performance considering all the shitty demands Oscar made before the fight (wearing the Reyes gloves, Floyd moving up ect)
mayweather fights like rjj and james toney.i reckon if he was more of a toney then this fight would have been exciting, he would have done them defensive moves right infront of de la hoya in the middle of the ring and countered right back (like he did on the ropes once and rocked ODLH) instead of doing them moves when forced to when oscar flurried on him on the ropes. but still the rjj and toney combination is a tough one to beat.
i think this fight could have been more exciting if mayweather was a little more offensive minded, he seemed a little cautious. however i did notice mayweather starting to feel comfortable standing infront of de la hoya after the 3rd or 4th rounds.
What does this havve to do with roy jones jr?Originally Posted by dgreen626

manny sounded like a cock sucker last not when he made that comment. he one of PBF biggest supportors no all of a sudden he's not all that impressed with PBF.
this isn't a fair comparison to Roy... Mayweather could have used alot more footwork, and won this fight alot easier if he had wanted to ALA Roy vs. Toney, but Floyd was actually trying to knock Oscar out IMO, and he hurt him a few times especially that one to the body late.
I think near the end of the 5th round Mayweather hurt Oscar the most, when Oscar was trying to flurry at him on the ropes and Mayweather countered with 2 huge hooks.
.....well I don't know where Floyd has been but GREAT FIGHTERS don't wait until they are ready to retire to take chances vs tough opposition.
Floyd never unified a division
Floyd has a LONG list of fighters he didn't come close to fighting which he should have
Roy Jones Jr did a lot more than Floyd IMO and the list of fighters he didn't fight is a lot shorter
Good lord what would the catch weight be... Mayweather would need to be doing his training at McDonalds or KFC.

Pretty nobody truly unifies nowadays. He pretty much did at welterweight, superfeather weight, and lightweight though.Originally Posted by Lyle
