I agree with your list for the most part. From 5-10 to me is interchangable, but I think the top 5 is concrete.

    1. Cotto
    2. PBF
    3. Margarito
    4. Quintana
    5. Paul Williams

PBF is still the #1 p4p fighter in the sport today, no question, but Cotto has done a hell of a lot more at WW IMO.

Its not about what you've done its about how good you are.

Mayweather is the clearly the best welterweight and the champion of the division
Cotto is clearly the second best fighter in the division

then there is a whole group of contenders
ODLH, Mosley, Margarito, Williams, Quintana, Judah, Clottey that all fall in the about the same category even though IMO ODLH and MOsley are better than the rest of them.

If you consider the ODLH fight a WW fight of sorts then COtto definitely hasn't done a hell of a lot more than Mayweather this weight class

Mayweather's list would be MItchell(Who cares), Judah(same as Cotto), Baldomir(better than Gomez), ODLH(better imo at this stage then Mosley), and Hatton

Cotto has Quitana(respectable, Urkal(who cares), Judah( same as Mayweather), MOsley(not as good as ODLH), and the joke Gomez

Well based on achievements at the 147 weight class it's pretty easy.

    1. Miguel Cotto
    2. Floyd Mayweather
    3. Antonio Margarito
    4. Carlos Quintana
    5. Paul Williams
    6. Shane Mosley
    7. Joshua Clottey
    8. Kermit Cintron
    9. Andre Berto
    10. Issac Hlatswayo

If you rank the division P4P, which is how most divisions are ranked imo.

    1. Floyd Mayweather
    2. Miguel Cotto
    3. Shane Mosley
    4. Carlos Quintana
    5. Antonio Margarito
    6. Paul Williams
    7. Joshua Clottey
    8. Andre Berto
    9. Zab Judah
    10. Kermit Cintron

I like how Floyd gets NO credit from anyone for beating Ricky Hatton.

I can't think of any other champion in any other weight class who could take on the undisputed, undefeated Ring champion of the weight class below, who has already won a world title in the higher weight class, beat him and still not get any credit.

If Pacquiao beats David Diaz, then moved back down had another fight at superfeather and moved back up to lightweight and lost to Campbell or Casamayor woul they get no credit because he's only a superfeather? Pacquaio himself only just beat Marquez by razor thin decision and he's only a featherweight really.

Will Hopkins get no credit for beating Joe because he's only a super middle?

How about Israel Vazquez, he went 2-1 with Rafael Marquez but he was after all only a bantamweight moving up

I think it's because most neutral fans had Floyd winning even at Hatton's strongest weight.

And i also think a lot of people feel that with a different referee, Hatton might have made the fight a little bit tougher.

Personally i feel he deserves a lot of credit for it. He took on a very dangerous fighter and he did a number on him. Big Credit as far as i'm concerned.

It's just easier to hate on Mayweather than it is to praise him. Truth is there isn't anybody out there to match him talent wise, so when he makes fights look easy, haters claim he aint really fighting anybody dangerous. Similar situation to Roy Jones.

Floyd's at the top, everyone else underneath somewhere, i don't see any of these guys as a real threat to floyd, welter or any other division he decides to venture to.

It has to be Mayweather #1 he's the champ of the division, he's the #1 p4p fighter in the world, and he's the best fighter in the division

COtto is great, one of my 5 favorite fighters, but he is not the king of the WW division.
