I'm with Lopez over Berto!

This Friday on Spike TV. I always liked Lopez... and I think he can thrash Berto. If Berto can't win, and I think he will be beat up over 12 rounds, he should really retire. He's just not cut out for the elite level. Don't waste your time.

You see that guy Victor Ortiz? The guy that beat you up for the title? He's not an elite fighter anymore and he should go into the movies. Dunno why he is staying in the game for so long?!!?

Berto seems injury prone for one thing.

I had to look at boxrec -much to my dismay, Berto has been fighting for 10 years. Doesn't seem that long, but he picked up the NABF & WBC in 2008. Made 5 title defenses. 2 time champ in 2011 for the IBF.

11 years is a good run, I, too think he is past his best, but from my perspective he was cut out for the elite level-as in past tense.

Side note- anyone disagree/agree with this: 5'6 w/68 reach @ WW was to his disadvantage.

Not sure what you mean. To his disadvantage as opposed to what? The way he was built he couldn't have gone lower.

But there are guys with 68" reach in even higher classes. So it's all a matter of working with what you have. Each of Paul Willisms arms was 362" long but he fought short. So having physical advantages isn't the end all.

Tough game, but he probably doesn't have the option of being in shit movies or doing anything else. Both these guys have reached their level and taken a lot of damage, but this should be a very TV friendly scrap, as long as they are both getting a decent payday what's the harm.

I wouldn't mind if they fought 3 times actually. I love the style match up they have. Plus they are certainly rivals as well similar ages, meshing styles, similar skill levels....Can't say that about many fighters or even divisions

Yea... that was back when they BOTH thought they had top-flight careers ahead of them. But now that it is out of the window, may as well make a decent trilogy for the money.

I bet the second fight would be a thriller.
