Default HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOHN L. SULLIVAN

One Hundred & Forty Nine Years Young today

Now while we all bicker about 'great fighters' we all need to bow down to the first true Superstar of the game.

Before the Boston Strong Boy came along, boxing was an illegal, rag-tag, bareknuckle underground sport. After Sullivan, it was a worldwide phenomena and everybody in the Western World knew who he was.

A true great in the history of our sport and without him we may not be discussing the sport as we know it today.

Thank you, John L. You're a proper Hero.

Im a Boston guy, but Ill be honest I only know of him what ive heard and its easy to criticize his record cause of all of the 0-0 opponents, but who knows how many fights they really had back then. Either he was a great fighter or a bully. I have nothing to go by but anyways.
