    Default kids football dilema

Im training 13 kids at the minute at football and I can only really sign 10

its 7 a side next season, under 9s

ive already kind of told one of their parents im not gonna sign him because of his lack of interest in actually playing football, he just d!Cs about at training

I told his mum not to bring him next week and try again the week after see if he has changed his attitude, he int that good on a match day either so its no great loss

theres another kid who has started massively d|kin about at training tho, I also told his dad not to bring him next week, see if he changes his attitude, thing is he is decent on a Saturday and would get into the starting 7

to sign or not to sign?

to sign or not to sign?

Only if he sorts out his attitude.

Sounds quite fun being a junior football coach. Like football manager but with little real people.

What sort of style of play do you try to instil?

we try and play the right way

it was 5 a side last season, been playing 7 a side over the summer ready for next season and I have been playing like a 1 2 2 1 formation or even 1 4 1 if you like

so 1 defender 2 central midfielders, one more holding and one more attacking, 2 wingers and a forward, its an attacking line up

training every week is about passing drills and getting the ball out wide, we play it out from the back too, never long ball

we win as many as we lose but 9 times out of 10 we are the better footballing side

we lost 6-2 last week but 1 of their goals was a long range free kick and the other 5 was the big kid putting his head down and running with it, we were much better with the ball at our feet

I reckon it will really sink in one day and well start to batter teams like that

Good stuff. Yeah I bet it will. Playing the way you describe takes more mastering than long ball to the biggest kid so you're bound to have plenty of losses on the way. Will pay off in the end though I bet.

Some kids act out because they don't want to be there at all, some might be there because the parents don't want them at home

Take the ones who commit. In youth sports ya cannot help but be a tutor or mentor..and you're not trying to present all stars and win gold. Simply work with the kids who want to be there and show commitment. All the knuckleheads do is take from others. Thin the herd first.

Master, please don't alter Marks posts. I enjoy the bizarre and random acts of aggression between you both.

He called me a bumder, waste of space and not intellegent, so I corrected him.
