Did Zab Judah And Pernell Whitaker Sparr ??

I was just looking on google and i come across a rumor that they sparred at one point is this true ??

they certainly did. i seen them sparring in the countdown to cotto judah. you also see them sparring in this highlight vid. not the whole thing but just a few highlights

Towards the end of his career (such as his training camp for the Oscar fight), Pernell trained with guys like Zab, Gatti, Vargas, etc.

If only Zab had paid attention to what Pernell did in the ring, he might've been a better fighter. When Zab first turned pro, he was billed as "Pernell with power." Only problem is that he never worked on any of the skills that made Pernell great, he fell in love with the "power" part.

Its funny that there is highlights of the KT and PBF fights in the vid, as tho ZAB was dominating these guys HAHA!

I knew Pernell keeps himself in shape, i didn no he kept himself in good enough shape to spar Judah just before the Cotto fight!

I think they sparred because they were using some of the same trainers at the time. Judah held his own with Sweet Pea, and he himself said he was in awe up until he got hit. Then it was on. I would like to see Sweet Pea become a trainer, because you know he has alot of knowledge.

The problem is his dad started training him

Yeah sweet pea trains brock, and he was supposed to train judah but for some reason that didnt happen.

Pernell has always said about Judah that he is the best fighter in the world in the beginning but he needs to learn to finish what he starts(in the boxing ring) and that he'd help him with that

I did not know that...good for him, but a heavyweight? I wouldve thought his style would be better suited for smaller guys not big brawling heavies. No way he's gettin Brock to move like he used to. He would gas out real quick.
