    Default Indoor Climbing

I did some indoor climbing with friends for the first time and it was very tiring and worked muscles that I did not know I had. Made me respect the people that climb outdoors and the mental ones that do it with no ropes. Nothing could be worse than being stuck and being too tired to know whether to go back down or up.

I need to get back into it!

Me about 7 years ago, messing about (hence the stupid commentary ) and hadn't been in years. A lot heavier now, but a lot stronger too so it would be interesting to see how I do.

I used to clomb weekly till I was about 13, revisiting the place at 20, it was weird having the upperbody strength to do loads of the walls that I could never do. When I was 12 I had to be very balanced and thoughtful, working from my feet... Now my feet are too big for half of the footholds I used, but my hands can do more!

It's true what you say, being even 10m up will make you realise that you can grip a lot harder and contract a lot longer than when you have no adrenalin!

Hehe, it's not the tallest wall. 10-15m I'd guess... The whole entire floor is one large crash mat too. Been on much higher walls and you def need a safety harness for them.

We used to to the junior climbing club there where they'd teach us how to set up varouis rope systems like absails and prussacks etc, really good looking back.

But we turned into horrible adolescents and started using the harnesses and ropes to enact the matrix and crouching tiger etc and lost interest.

Sorry guys, please sell to me the fact of people climbing mountains and getting killed up there in avalanches and etc.

Some people say its a sense of achievement but some say its a waste of life.

Indoor climbing? Anything with lanyards and harnesses is as boring as it gets..only imho guys.

It is fun and better to do it in a safe environment. It really is hard work and a great work out. No way would I do it outdoors.
