Default Taylor vs Wright : Only WBC Belt on the line

The WBC is the only sanctioning body that is considering this fight a defense for Taylor's belt.
Neither guys are paying the WBO fees which means if Wright wins, the belt becomes vacated. If Taylor wins or a draw he will retain the WBO belt.
The WBA is looking at this differently. Taylor was willing to pay the negotiated fee, but since Wright refused to pay his share, the WBA is basically saying that regardless who wins the fight, Taylor will be dropped leaving Sturm as the sole champion.

By next week, if Taylor wins he will have the WBC and WBO belt only.
If Wright wins the WBC belt will be his, but the WBO will be vacated.

dosen't matter what belt they are fighting for, whoever wins will still become the undisputed champion of the middleweight division.

He's going to keep $200,000 more of his purse as a result. Good for him.

Got to agree here... I like Taylor, but whoever wins will be the undisputed champ no matter what the sanctioning bodies claim. Starting to wonder if the nerds on those bodies had ever seen a fight?

If anybody gave a crap to care, there would be a boxing commission instead of a bunch of silly belts. Maybe I'll just start up an organization with my own belt and have fighters pay me to keep it. Whoever makes the most money gets to fight for it.

    What, that doesn't sound legit?

No one was crowned Undisputed Middleweight World Champion between Leonard's victory over Hagler, and his return to fighting at 160 or under, against Norris...

So although billed as a contest at Light Middleweight, the Norris/Leonard fight, meets the criterion for a Middleweight contest (both participants weighing 160 or under); and Leonard had a bona fide claim to the Middleweight Championship of the World

Good info. I think it is great when the alphabet groups go against the univerisally recognized champions. It takes us closer and closer to absolutly no one giving them any respect.

I also love the fact that ESPN recognizes the Ring Champion.

Exactly what i was going to say, just coz you dont get all of his belts doesnt mean you didnt beat him. He only needs to beat taylor to become the champ, belts or no belts.
