Default British Fighters In The Olympics

Well, the first of the British fighters has been in action in the Middleweight division, and Anthony Ogogo really was a step ahead of the Dominican, cruising to a 13-6 win. Some good lead rights against the southpaw, and he built up a lead in the second round, letting him just land the counters in the third.

He's got a world champion in the next round, but still, a very good start for the Brits in the ring.

    Ogogo looked ok.
I have tickets for next sat and a few quid on Joshua for the Gold.

Ogogo is a bit unlucky, drawing the World Champ next won a few pounds on him in his first fight.

He's in action tomorrow, along with Fred Evans of the GB guys.

Joshua has a tough opening fight. He's fighting the nephew of Felix Savon...Erislandy Savon. I think if Joshua gets by him he'll medal.

It looks like there's not too many easy draws for the Brits here, and drawing a Cuban has to be disappointing for any of these guys.

Today, Fred Evans is on at 4.15pm, and Josh Taylor on at 8.30pm according to the schedule.

Was a nice first round draw for Agogo. I think the Dominican was their 2nd choice guy if I heard the commentary correctly? Might have been better to get a tougher draw initially to ready him for the world champion in his next fight.

Interesting, Agogo has moved up to Middleweight. He used to be a welter didn't he? I remember the ABA final a few years back where he was dropped quite badly..he got up to win so he has the heart. Just hope his chin holds up to the heavier shots because he's a decent boxer.

Freddy Evans looked good yesterday I thought. Good performance for his first outing, although his opponent was only 18 I think so there will absolutely be tougher and more experienced challenges in the latter stages.... Is there anywhere that stores every fight the british fighters compete in top watch on demand does anyone know ?

Interesting day for British action tomorrow.

Luke Campbell faces Vittorio Parrinello at 8.30, and then Joshua v Savon is a really late one at 11.15 in the evening. @Fenster, please don't put the curse of your betting behind our boys.

Sorry @superheavyrhun, and the rest of Britain, but I already backed Joshua well before the comp started. Savon first round? Definitely my influence.

Luckily for the rest of GB, everyone else i've backed is not from GB. (An American girl, a Chinese guy, two Cubans and a dude from Ukraine currently don't realise they're already beat.)

Shit. I backed Joshua as my earlier post shows.

    Ogogo pulls off huge upset.

Level points. Count back level. Five judges favour the Brit (home advantage in boxing is invaluable).
