Default pardon me for this weird, boxing question

in championship fights, when the challenger wins and gets the belts of the former champ, do they make new belts? cause i'm pretty sure the former champ has his own replica of the belts. but during championship fights, during post fight interviews, the champion has the belts of the recentl champ, or are they new?

cause if there's only one belt, they must really stink.

You not seen the guy forging the new belt beside the ring once the winner is announced?

ohh okay, i was thinking along those lines. i've never been to a live fight so i've never seen a forger at ringside. i thought there was already on made ready in case the challenger wins. that would be expensive though, so yeah forging does seem more practical. thanks brother.

i would pressume they make every champ a replica to keep and then they keep the original for handing over if need be, they probably just make a new one once it starts getting a little worn and smelly..... i know the WBA made haye a new one because valuevs waist was so much bigger than hayes so it didnt fit, this made the news in britian so im guess its out of the norm.....

I was just kidding mate, I think once a fighter wins a belt they take the belt the Champ came into the ring with but then give it back and get a fresh belt made for them. You will often see ex champs with display cabinets showing off their belts from past fights so they do get to keep them.

Kels right. It used to be that the former champ would hand his belt to the new champ so they could crown the new champ in the ring. After which, the belt would be made for the new champ (used to be about 2-3 weeks.. though they could probably do it now in few days with CNC machines, laster etching, etc.) Then when the new is presented to the champ, the old one was returned to the former.

They probably have a blank temp belt which they can sport for press and etc in the meantime, now a days.
They want your @$$ beat because upsets make news. News brings about excitement, excitement brings about ratings. The objective is to bring you up to the tower and tear your @$$ down. And if you don't believe that, you're crazy.
