Default Malignaggi v Senchenko this Sunday

Anyone got any thoughts on this fight for the WBA Welter strap?

    Senchenko 32-0, Malignaggi 30-4

Its taking place in Ukraine and Senchenko is a 35 year old protected unbeaten Ukrainian. Never fights outside of Ukraine and the biggest name on his record is Nuzhnenko who Matthew Hatton beat.

I dont hesitate to say, this is as big a candidate for a hometown decision as you're likely to be able to anticipate. I predict Paulie will pickpocket and jab his way to a Pts decision in all but the judges eyes. Senchenko by UR or SR (unanimous robbery / split robbery). I hope I am wrong though.

And for the UK fans out there, Boxnation picked it up and its on Sunday evening.

I agree. I hope Paulie come back home with the title.

Just thinking about the 147lb division, if Paulie can bring home the title and Robert Guerrero beat Selcuk Aydin for the WBC. Not to mention Bradley beating Pacman for the WBO. There will be not face recognition or money to be made in that division by the time Mayweather gets out of jail. Floyd did the right thing by moving up in weight.

I think Paulie will get a fair shake over there. I've seen a few Ukrainian fight cards and I haven't seen any bad decisions to visiting fighters. The one and only robbery (if you want to call it that) was when Ukrainian Stanyslav Kashtanov fought Karoly Balzsay...most people thought Kashtanov beat Balzsay but the judges saw it differently.

Freddie Roach trains Kashtanov and here's what he said:

"I think Senchenko's boxing ability will enable him to out-score Paulie to win a decision. Paulie is very game. He'll bring the fight and make it exciting. Going to the Ukraine is not like going into hostile territory. The promoter (Yuri Ruban, Union Boxing) over there is very fair. One time I had a fighter from there - I thought he won - but he lost a decision at home. There will be neutral judges and the winner will be the real winner."

Interesting Tigerfan. I only hope Paulie can win the majority of rounds and then we can put the fair shake theory to the test

I used to hate Paulie Malinaggi the most of any fighter, but he slowly won me over with his amazing displays of courage in the Cotto and Hatton fights.

He's a slick boxer and a tough guido juice head

Last time I saw him he looked pretty good but not great against B side Cotto.

Never seen this Senchenko guy, GO PAULIE !

find it rather doubtful that Paulie M. can win.

Paulie doesn't KO people. And winning a decision in the Ukraine. He better box this guy's ears off in every round. And he still probably won't get a decision.

Senchenko looks big as hell compared to Paulie. According to boxrec...Senchenko is only an inch and a half taller Maybe it's just the camera angle. I heard he's closer to 6 feet tall.

I don't think he's gonna have time to do this

Yeah I think Malignaggi's got his hands full!

Malignaggi has experience at world level but Senchenko is a unknown commodity. My general feeling here is that Senchenko is simply bigger & better!

The height difference is some 4 inches there. Unless Senchenko is on higher ground or something of course.

How can you tweet during rounds? You cant have a phone whilst fighting!
