whatever relaxes you.
If you have prepared effectively, this day is all about rest, recovery and proper eating.
I like to take a day off work if possible.. eat properly.. relax.. i find myself walking around the house doing a hell of alot of shadow, sometimes some boxingdvds.. situps.. just keep my mind on boxing.
Immortal Technique
yer i do a lot of shadow boxing
i get so buzzing i have to do something
i would only do like 10 to get the blood flowing
Chill and maintain bra, easier said then done I know. When Ive got a fighter going, I tend to throw up out of nerves. But you really need to keep an even keel, otherwise you'll screw with your breathing in there.
Once your in, if your corners barking at you too hard, find a way to tune them out and just concentrate on getting your breath rate back to base.
A great example of why,is Tarver Hopkins
Even in rounds that Hopkins lost, his corner barely raised their voice,Tarvers corner was screaming at him for the whole fight.
So Hopkins was loose and taking care of buisness
You could have bounced rocks off of Tarver he was so tight and unsure of himself
yet again great advice
The day before a fight, I make sure I get the beer in the fridge so its nice and cool for fight time. I make sure the time of fight time start and make sure my take away gets here 30 minutes before
sounds nice and relaxed maybe when im 50 and retired from everything i will enjoy that before a fight to
The night before i sit back and relax turn off the tv i have done my home work i know what i am fighting and i start to visualise the fight from round one to finish and i go over every scenario again and again if he throws a lead right i do A after my jab i do B i up the tempo in round two and so on.
This tool has helped me greatly because i use it in shadow boxing as well as soon as i know who i am fighting i counter that style in my head and when the fight happens its natural you dont second guess your self you just get deep in your mind and visualise and the rest follows
If you have trouble sleeping;
ring the opposition ,ask them what they are up to.
"Hey bro, what you up to?"
"Who the fuk is this?
"Ahh come on, we are fighting tomorrow"whats happening bro?
What do mean whats happening you F#"!#$!"
Ahh doesnt matter, look be professional about this ,try and relax more try and get some sleep.
What! you.....?
Yeah ok then mate, I'll catch you tomorrow.
beep ,beep ,beep.
