Most probably... but Cory tried to mix it up in his last fight with Latimore and he almost lost that fight...

You can almost see this coming.King and Mayweather in all kinds of 'discussions' leading into Spinks/Latimore,then King standing there in the post fight interview on TV yelling..."We're coming for you Mayweather...Get ready Mayweather".Spinks was ripe for the picking in with green Latimore, contrary to The commentators...he looked terrible but recieved the points win.A beatable "champion" with a strap, nevermind it being 154,Floyd could come in catchweight and brutalize Spinks, and take his trinket to propell into another big show.I dont put anything past King,or Mayweather if it means another 'belt'.We've seen crazier things.

Spinks is not the opponent I was hoping for, but I suppose I can grant Mayweather a tune-up. Spinks is a good boxer & is becoming more watchable as his legs have slowed! Has a bit of a name, plus a trinket... smart move on Mayweathers behalf (who cares about the fans?)

If he wanted to make a statement of a comeback (not against the elite or big names in Marquez, Pac/ Hatton winner, Williams, Cotto or Berto) then someone like Sergio Martinez or Timothy Bradley would have been better imo

Floyd would get the same sort of flak if he fought someone like Forrest or Collazo so Spinks ain't that bad

But I feel Cintron or Quintana may have been better options...

I think Cory Spinks is pretty dangerous, he's tough to hit, he's fast, he is bigger than Mayweather, and he has great boxing skills.

Lets not forget Floyd has been out of the ring 17 month on May 8th even Floyd Mayweather needs a tune up before anything big.

I'd be more curious who'd win at madden. Shit you mid-as-well make a circus of it and have him fight that latimore kid the same night too.

I actually really like this fight. Tough ask for Floyd, you guys saying this is easy are forgetting just how small Floyd is.

Spinks is a legitimate junior middleweight and has even fought for the undisputed middleweight world title. Floyd's natural weight class is probably 140 right now so even at welter he's giving a lot of size away.

After more than a year out, going straight into a world title fight with Cory Spinks, who hasn't been beaten decisively since the second Zab Judah fight and was arguably unlucky to have lost to both Jermain Taylor and Verno Phillips.

I'd make it 60/40 in favour of Floyd but Cory has a great chance imo.

Spicoli & Bilbo are both making sense to me.

If I had to pick an outcome I'd say that Mayweather outpoints Spinks with a SD.

In my eyes losing to Spinks (no matter how much bigger he is) would wipe Mayweather off the historical map.

I think Mayweather can ko Spinks. It should be an ok fight. I won't buy it, but I do not knock Mayweather on this decision. I think Spinks is a proper opponent and good challenge for a comeback fight.

I too get the feeling it's a going to be a little boring though. A lot of feinting and premature punch dodging.

I do hope Mayweather shines though and gets him out inside of 10 rounds.

Agree that Mayweather cannot lose this fight if he wants to have another big fight ever again.. which is where the huge risk lies in a tune up fight.. but to say it will be an SD may be just as bad as a loss..

I see Floyd fighting to a UD by a clear 3-4 round margin. Spinks is bigger and is still pretty quick, but I don't give him much of a chance in this fight considering he does not have KO power.

I only quoted Bilbo on this so this post would show up again.. Just for everyone who was complaining about Floyd picking on the "smaller" Ricky Hatton. Just makes me chuckle..
