You are slowly becoming my favourite poster on here.

what with the amount of racial and political inspired posters that frequent saddoboxing its nice and refreshing to have a simple man of simple values who delivers his posts in a simple no nonsense fashion

I think it would be a cakewalk for them other than Pacquiao obviously...I think Crawford moving up to 147 would be tough for them to handle.

The jury is still out on Thurman, Garcia, and Spence though....I think Thurman is the goods out of all of them.

1 fight that really would have intrigued me for both Cotto and Margarito would be Tim Bradley....dude has a hell of a chin, great work ethic.

Cotto would do well. Margarito would be what he was before. A top 10 welter but just a decent fighter.

Without the plaster he was still a decent fighter, still tough......he's a cheating asshole, but he's still a tough fellow. I did so enjoy seeing him get his ass whupped by Pac and Cotto and Mosley

Cotto was at his best at light welter until he struggled to make weight and then got knocked down. Cotto did struggle with big welters so Thurman/Brooks would cause issues.

Just shows you how good Cotto was to win a title at light middle.

Yeah, people forget Cotto's fights at 140. His frame was perfect for that weight. Welter was pushing it.

What about Prime Cotto v Crawford at 140lb? Now that would be good.

Oh yeah... excellent fight. Crawford's a terrific tactician and counterpuncher, but then so was Cotto in his prime.

In my opinion is impossible to come to a conclusion other than both Margarito and Cotto would be competitive against the top welters of today. Success in the sport of boxing at the highest level is mostly tied to the conditioning of the fighter. Conditioning happens at the training camp prior to the fight, so this leads me to agreeing with the good ol saying that you're only as good as your last fight. But, both Margarito and Cotto are good fighters to bet on though, depending on the stylistic matchup. I still think both at their prime would lose to Pac (and Floyd) even this version of Pac (38 years old) today.
