    Default Friday boxing trivia

Joe Louis, was the world heavyweight boxing champion from 1937 to 1949.
After winning the world heavyweight title from James J. Braddock, Louis had 25 successful title defenses, a record for the heavyweight division.

Who did Joe Louis finally lose his Heavyweight title to?

    #1. Jersey Joe Walcott

    #2. Rocky Marciano

    #3. Ezzard Charles

    #4. Juan Manuel Marquez

    #5. none of the above

Kind of a cross between 3 & 5. Louis retired after Walcott II, then unretired...NBA recognized Charles going into the Louis fight (which Charles won by decision), but the lineal title and popular claims gave the title to Charles after he beat Louis.

None of the above. He retired. When he fought Charles the belt wasn't his to loose.

Ding! Ding! Ding! we have a winner! Louis never lost a fight when he was the World Heavyweight Champion.

(Although many thought he lost to Jersey Joe Walcott in their 1st fight)

P.S. Nobody picked picked Juan Manuel Marquez, good job, JMM clearly defeated Louis in their fight, but was screwed on the scorecards.

Mars_ax I love Trivia but your questions are way too easy!

I am still waiting for someone to answer this one.

If this is too hard I will ask an easier one.

Henry, I try to post "interesting" trivia that increases your boxing knowledge for example: I find it amazing that Joe Louis never lost a World Heavyweight title fight while he was a champion. While a boxing historian like you may find the question easy and know that without looking it up, most of us are just guessing at it.
I wish my friend Marble would start coming back around more often, he's one of the most knowledgeable boxing heads i've ever met online and i'm sure he'd know the answers to some of your hard trivia.

BTW, i'm glad you take the time to post on this forum, it's great to have someone with your outstanding boxing pedigree gracing the Saddoboxing forum.

    cheers

    I understand!

Bert Sugar even asks me questions every time where together, and I've answered every question he came up with so far.
