McGirt recalling the minute break between the 9th round of the Ward fight "He said, 'Help me stand up and I'll finish the fight.'"
No doubt he could have been very special and fights vs Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. were very realstic expectations for him. The problem is with the way he was burning the candle at both ends life would have caught up with him even if this tragedy had not happened. Drugs and living life like that takes a toll on you look at all the greats we've seen get KO'd by drugs alone.
It's a very sad thing, talent, youth, potential....all wasted due to drugs and more than likely mental instability caused by that motorcycle accident.
And there is no condoning what he did to his wife.
