Default Was lennox lewis power overrated?.

He is commonly mentioned as being one of the hardest punchers in heavyweight history . But he didnt score that many one punch knockouts or even knockouts for that matter. Some of his opponents such holyfield, tyson, phil jackson, mercer didnt think much of his power . Tommy morrison even said that lewis couldnt punch for shit.

If anything his power is underatted imo. He didn't have the aggressive all out style that the likes of Tyson and Marciano had but if he caught someone he could send them to sleep with one punch.

He liked to outbox and break people down which is why he didn't have more knockouts but he hit as hard as anyone no question

Look at the Lewis-Morrison fight and tell me Morrison isn't feelings Lewis power. If anything it looks like Lewis couldn't feel Morrison's power. Morrison is the one who was dropped several times.

Exactly VD.....I mean Morrison, Tyson, and Jackson got stopped....it wasn't cause they were tired or anything it was because they got punched too much and TOO HARD

yea it may of took something out of him but give credit where credit is due alot of boxing experts thought he would beat lewis and that was mighty impressive for lewis to stop him in only 2 rounds when tyson who is considered one of hardest hitting heavyweights ever had hard time with ruddock and ruddock managed to go distance with tyson 2nd time so i think its damn impressive and shows lewis power that he destroyed ruddock in only 2 rounds

Lennox was a massive puncher with great boxing ability and a great chin he would have stopped holyfield in 1st fight if he had gone for it when he had him on the ropes ive just watched Lennox had an iron chin on youtube great watch

Then why was he down everytime Lewis landed a punch ? He must have a real poor chin in that case . Tyson was never taken out with 1 right hand like he was when he fought Lewis.
