    Default The Rear hook

    Ive just started joining a boxing gym and ive seen people throw alot of lead hooks even I know how to do a lead hook but I dont know how to do a rear hook any videos teaching how to do a rear hook will help

    Another small item you can or cant use in certain situations: You can turn a rear hook into a lead hook just using your feet.

    what would the footwork setup be like on that one? I imagine its more then just a big step foreward with your rear foot to switch stances....

    I was thinking more like in response to a lunging forward target so you pull your front leg back into full switch and as your rear arm turns into your lead arm you get the twist and the power through your legs there.

    I think your way around may work better on a double hook, low and high or a feign and a hook if the first missed you could time the step as an adjustment to come over the top of his arm in an unseen hook from the outside, maybe . Hard to get power out of it that way around though;moving forward. The screw wouldnt be in with the landing with balance.
