Default Which Old HW War horse STILL has a shot at a Title?

All of these guys are WarHorses!
Over 10 years and 30 fights! How long does a guy keep chasing the dream?
Some have seen the glory and want one more moment in the spotlight.
Some can't seen to understand that its over.
Who do you think on the list has the BEST shot at really doing something in the HW division? More than just fluking into a title somewhere, AND WHY!
Any one I missed? 10+ years and say 30+ fights or so?

AND hey...which guy do you SERIOUSLY think should hang 'em up!

I dont know if this is a valid question. Everyone but Wald has just fluked into a heavyweight belt.

It has to be Toney, McCline or Holyfield. I literally laughed when I saw Goofi on the list.

I'll say Holyfield just because I think he will be the only one of these guys, outside of maybe Rahman or Ruiz to even get a title shot. But I don't think he beats any of the champions. Well...maybe Briggs.

But Mesi is the one who absolutely has NO PLACE in a boxing ring right now and I beleive he is just playing with fire.

What does how the current belt holders path to obtaining their belts, have to do with other seasoned fighters chances or abilities to rise to the top of the division at a late stage in their careers?
The question is about this large group of decent experienced fighters who are still trying to stay "in the mix" to vie for a chance to show that they can fulfill the promise that they once showed and hoped for. If you have a comment or opinion about any or some of these guys I'd really like to hear it. Maybe see a different view of why some of these guys are still regarded by some as guys with a chance or more. Hopefully open up some discussion about each guys pro's and/or cons.

    If it's not a valid question...I don't get it..

Do you really think that NONE of them have a chance?
    Who does that leave?

I'd say the top three are Rahman, Holyfield and McCall. Probably in that order. Rahman aint that old and was just Champion less than a year ago, he just fukked up, got tired, and got KTFO again by Oleg Maskaev. Holyfield is old, but still has a big name and with a few more wins over lesser competition could very well get a title shot. And McCall is a nut job with a granite chin and one hell of a punch. Just about everybody else has virtually no chance. Tua man is fat, and has not been KO'n the bums he's been fighting like he should be. I like Tua, but if he can't KO THESE guys, then fuk it, its time to retire.

Hmmm I agree, Rahman might be the dark horse I always liked his skills and balance of size power speed etc,but he didn't show it against Toney or Maskaev.
Evander as much as I hate to say it ..is done, His name and rep might get him a shot that I don't think he deserves unless he has a couple of real fights and shows he still has it, and I think it will show the opposite.
McCall didn't look good to me at all in his second to last fight and is really fighting bums.
Tua? I don't know..I think age and his style don't go well. He,like Tyson won't be effective as older bigger slower guys. I don't think he can get it back.
Sure be nice to see some kind of elimination with ALL these guys and the say 4 left standing face off for 2 title shots at 2 different belts!

Larry Donald should be a title holder right now!!! WBA title holder!!!!!

Joe Mesi ain't that old....and he hasn't been in half as many battles as the rest of those guys. I wish him the best but that head injury worries me. I wish he had already gotten a TITLE SHOT so he'd know how he compares to the best of the division.

Oliver McCall is dangerous but he won't get another shot.

John Ruiz will be the first out of that group to get another title shot...he has like one a year whether he deserves it or not.
