Default So was Dirrell's "Nuerological issues" legit?

I just got to wondering WTF happened to Dirrell. I know there people believing the whole "Nuerological issues" was BS, myself included. It has been 15 months since his last fight, so i was just wondering why would he want to take that much time off when he could be fighting making money. I tried to do a little research and on twitter a few days ago he announced; "My next fight will be very soon! I just can't announce any info on it now so just please bare with me!" So what do you guys think, legit or BS?

One doesn't return from brain damage. If he comes back it was bs.

Well i guess Brain damage was a bad choice of words on my part, i think they were saying nuerological issues. Let me edit that.

He did have neurological issues although he overplayed it a little imo..

All I know is, Dirrell is the truth at 168.. He truly is The Matrix...

OK fair enough. I still think he'll have a target on his back at the physicals for the major commissions (Nevada, New York, New Jersey). Neurological recovery (I am not a doctor nor do I play one on TV) takes a long time compared to other injuries.

Even the way you modified things I see only two likely scenarios. First, there really were significant issues and he'll have trouble getting licensed or second, hist team made crap up to cover up for his strange post-fight behavior after Abraham drilled him.

They were real enough to prevent him from fighting his dear friend. That punch from Abraham was a blessing for Dirrell. Not only did it get him a win. But it provided an out from the Ward fight. A fight Ward didn't really seem to want. And a fight Dirrell seemed to be scared to death of. Only problem for Dirrell was it backed him into a corner where he couldn't fight for awhile. He was originally suppose to return in January if I remember correctly. But couldn't. Not that there was anything wrong with him. It's just a good amount of people were saying bullshit to his excuse already. For him to return from this "career threatening" injury in less than a year would pretty much confirm he was bullshitting. So on the sidelines he sits

Yea i think he overplayed it. I agree with VD, he had no choice but to sit out for awhile. Curious to see how he looks after all this time off. As of now it's been 15 months, by the time he comes back maybe 18 months or longer? Thats a long time to be out of the ring, but with so many fight options at 168 i guess he should have no problem getting some good fight.

I guess we should give Dirrell the benefit of the doubt, but the whole thing stinks to high heaven, seems like a load of BS to me.

I am not normally one to question a fighter but I have alot of trouble with Dirrell's explanations. His behavior has made me scratch my head on several occasions.

    Dirrell is boxing's biggest looser.
He's gone and effectively ruined any chances of ever comming back without being labelled a lying little madam

    Eh, whatever. Look at Ortiz.

What Cintron did in the Williams fight was worse as well and I saw his name thrown around recently by Michael Rosenthal as a good potential opponent for Pac (I disagree completely but that's not the point).

At least Dirrell had dominated Abraham up to that point and was clearly intentionally fouled -- even if the reaction was overplayed. I don't buy that that unskilled oaf was "on the verge of a KO." That's what fighters always say when they're DQ'd.

No you miss the point, what Dirrell did in the ring is bad enough... And that picture is old, i'd made it way back when a few people on here were acting like the genuinely thought Dirrell got knocked out and was convulsing on the floor... but for Dirrell to carry the lie on the way he has is just shamefull. But it is justified by the fact that he can never come back without that shame hanging around his neck.
