I always consider Respect to be Otis Redding's song, but Aretha certainly could handle carrying that tune. She was way more than just the Queen of Soul, she was an American icon.
Loved her duet with George Michael, she had the best vocals of a western woman I have known.
RIP the queen of Soul.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
My folks played a lot of Aretha when I was young. I grew up on that sh-t. RIP Aretha.
They live, We sleep
She was absolutely amazing
She was no meatloaf or anything, but she could sing pretty well.
She always brought it from the soles of that expansive soul, what an absolutely awesome voice and life enthusiasm for what she loved.
