Default Are We Supposed To Take Tua Seriously?????

I was just thinking about Tua and this weekend......Saul Montana??....This guy has a loss to every heavyweight C- or better.......

His last opponents before this were Robert Hawkins and Maurice Wheeler.......

The last Ranked opponent he fought was Rahman back in 2003......I don't understand what is going on with him exactly other then the fact he had promotional problems for a bit.....Why he has not even tried to fight with the upper level......

But I can't take him as a serious threat to the division or even a top caliber fighter in the division as long as he keeps going the way he is facing the guys he has been

Lately his choice of opponents reminds me of Joe Mesi.

I think the one sided lewis deafeat kind of hurt him, he never seemed to believe in him self as much after that if i remeber right, he just fought coz its all he knew...

I think know he is making a steady comeback, it might be to late. but if he gets in good shape, his confidence up he can take a belt and be a threat imo.

Are we supposed to take the entire heavyweight division seriously? Their number 1 guy has been crying unification for well over a year at this point and has made 0 progress while two bums who are newly crowned champs almost had a unification match. A 40 year old man who is a shell of his former self (tho better than the version of him that byrd beat for a title) has a legitimate shot at winning a belt. The wbc is locked up for 2 fights, Holyfield in all reality is gonna retire after he wins the wba belt, who knows what the hell is going on with chagaev, and the best in the division has the ibf but no one to unify against. Absolute masterpeice.

I guess he should pull a Lamon Brewster and take a title shot just for the hell of it? Or a James Toney and do nothing to improve himself between fights? How about a Tommy Morrison or a Bowe?

Tua is preparing himself for glory. Wait and see.

Tua would send Rahman packing in 4 rounds if they fought tomorrow. Rahman struggled against Sykes what good did that do for the fans? I'd rather see a fighter workover a bum to get his groove back then play chest bumping games with an average opponent.

I hear you DK...but the 'name' still promises a knockout and in a division so light on excitement and superstars I don't begrudge him having a go a bolstering his pension fund.

If he can punch and take a shot (which is all he could ever do) then i guess we have to take him seriously.

I agree he would bang Rahman out .......My point is he leaves...comes back...leaves...comes back....then fights one or two tune up's so to speak then does nothing...goes no further...does not even attempt to take on a bigger name...not even top 10 just someone like Williamson...someone...anyone...just to get out in the mix.....

I am a fan of the guy but all the I am back to make some noise is getting old because he never does anything.....I don't understand it......

It is possible.......Lewis ruined Michael Grant but Tua is above that IMO
