    Default VINNY PAZ

One of the best (CORRECTION: LIGHTWEIGHTS FROM THE NE AREA) ever... I've seen him fight(being from Providence) on many occations... just a true brawler.

Yea he's a true brawler.. but nowhere near the elite of any division.. SMW is one of the weakest divisions ever in terms of the number of ATGS to grace it.. but he would not be anywhere close... He was never even close to a world class contender at middle or SMW, he was world class as a lightweight, but just barely and mostly just a GAtti type brawler. He lost to any boxer he ever fought at any weight class and Roy Jones beat him up mercilessly in his only title shot at SMW. I remember there was a round where Paz didn't land one punch . I dont know why you would think he is a top SMW at all, his best weight was lightweight.

I like Vinny Paz but his wins over Duran meant nothing. Roberto Duran was soo much of a better figher in his hayday and i hated that Paz had to be the one to beat him twice cause I liked both guys. Still Vinny always came to fight. His 2nd fight with Rosenblatt is one of my favorites

Pazienza would have killed Gatti imo... he had good handspeed, and amazingly he actually hit harder as he went up in weight... or at least it seemed amazing to me that in proportion to the weight class his power increased... thats unusual... Anyways he was smaller than Roy, and Roy was using his jab that night... hard combo to beat... not to mention thats one of Roy's finest performances in his entire career.

he should have stayed at lw, really good fighter but not great....Whenever I start on my Vinnie Paz kick I always reflect back to the RJJ fight....he was Gatti's Mayweather...
It feels good to be back home.
