I guess I'm just saying he stands out that way in a sport that has pressers that are more and more like pro wrestling.Originally Posted by gbrandon

Remember that just about all promoters tell their boxers to spice the fight up with a little trash talk and rivalry. Just like wrestling a good grudge match gives better promotion which leads to more money, thats why you see fighters like Tarver, Hopkins, Mayorga, Toney talking so much trash. Winky Wright is beyond all that.Originally Posted by killersheep

I don't think it throws his opponents off, his fellow boxers talk enough trash for everyone in boxing. I think its refreshing to see someone not have to brag or put down others to promote a fight. Fights are not settled on talk, they are settled in the ring.
Agreed, I think Winky is a brilliant boxer, although not always the most exciting to watch ( if you are looking for a brawl) I think he should be a good role-model for up and coming boxers.Originally Posted by Swice

it's hard to want to hurt someone that has been nothing but nice to you....most fighters want to upset their opponent so that their opponents lose focus and don't stick to the game plan.....he also doesn't give his opponents that little "extra" most fighters give out...no I think I'll KO him in 5 or He's washed up... or over the hill/past his prime...no more motivation...Originally Posted by killersheep
