How good is Acelino Freitas?

Outside of that Corrales KO, Freitas has been a beast at 135. Is anybody hoping that Corrales and Freitas fight a unification bout soon?

Freitas I though would rival PBF before the KO against Corrales. It showed me a lack of heart with quiting in the ring, if he was low on gas he could have circled the ring and played defense to he got his head strait or maintained more energy, he should hope that Castillo and Corrales move up because he can not beat either one. Best victory was against Casamoyer.

I am not overly impressed. his last fight looked like a heavyweight match up..clinch clinch clinch. He does not seem to me a polished fighter. matching him up right well be the key for him. that last fight was a bad match-up style wise. IMO

he's got awesome power and reminds me a little of Tommy Hearns with how he punches, but doesn't quite know how to get those shots in there like Tommy

I really thought he was gonna run out of gas vs. Zahir proved me wrong.....

Hes good and can change a fight around with 1 punch, he limited but showed improvement vs. Zahir.

see, he beat casamoyer who apparantly floyd mayweather was running scared from
never mind the fact that he lost to corrales, who mayweather DESTROYED.
but, to answer.........i like him personally (his background and the way he over came poverty as a youth, as far as feeding his family) and the way he fights.
id like to see him and chico again though

Chico is so deep in Acelino's head that Freitas now fights tentatively & timidly even vs light-hitters like Raheem!! I always suspected Acelino had heart issues & the way he quit vs Corrales should shameless lack of heart! Keep in mind, his chin was questionable even before the Corrales fight...not only did Barrios have him down---so did feather-fisted Barry Jones (0 KOs) & Lemuel Nelson!!

If Ancelino fought Chico again,he would get KO'ed again,as he is not good enough to either avoid Chico all night nor take his best shots.I like Freitas,awesome awesome power but I don't like his newer herky jerky style.Too scruffy for me,I preferred how he was a while ago,the power punching machine.I'd prefer if he sat down on his shots.

Overrated. He quit against Corrales, his win over Casamayor was a gift (which is why he always avoided the rematch) and the Raheem fight was garbage. The Brazil media makes him bigger than he deserves to be.

I'm not overly impressed with him either . however he can be exciting when matched up right.
