Default Heavyweight title fight to run against Mayweather/Baldomir

Damn... Briggs vs Liakovich on the same night as PBF vs Baldomir.
    Which are you gonna watch?

Touch call, I'll probably be switching back and forth like I did when Cotto/Malignaggi and Hopkins/Tarver fought the same night.

Why the hell are these guys doing that? It's not like there aren't plenty of free weekends without big fights !?!?!?

I don't get it either. Don King is detestable in a lot of ways, but the guy's definitely not stupid. I mean, I guess he's not losing out on PPV buys since the fight's free on showtime anyway (right?), but still, he loses out on exposure for the winner. And for what?

I'll watch the PBF fight live and tivo the HW fight for later I guess. Does anyone know what the PBF undercard's going to be?

I think Showtime is doing everything they can to piss off HBO.
This will hurt HBO sales A LOT more than hurting Showtime viewing audience.

But f*ck... Nobody gives a crap about us fans.

I was going to the Mayweather/Baldomir fight but work just aint gonna let that happen...so I'll be doing the DRBR for that fight & I'll just set up another telee in the same room & cover them both.

    No problem.

This should be a no brainer that the main fight that night is PBF. I'm probably going to watch that one at a bar but thank God for TIVO.

I can't imagine that anyone who was previously ready and willing to drop $50 for the PBF fight is going to change their mind because now they could watch Sergei Lyakhovich and Shannon Briggs for free instead. It's sort of apples and oranges.

True, but when it comes down to fight night and the 'average' boxing working class fan is flipping through the stations and sees the two fights, I bet most of them will choose the free heavyweight fight vs the more talented PBF/Baldomir for $50.

I think the people that are just flipping through the stations not already knowing about these fights are the same people who weren't going to be spending $50 to watch a fight anyway.
