    Default What's next for Franklin?

does he get a re-match immediately or does he have to go through anyone?

This is the problem with the UFC right now. Each division is shallow. Clearly there's nobody else in MW that can go with Silva or Franklin.

The same is true for the WWs. Top three are in a league of their own. Speaking of which...

GSP and Hughes. Who ya' got?

I dunno...Franklin is out for a while with his face all busted up, and he was just coming back off another injury before the fight. I really think that as much as he deserves a rematch, he should PROBABLY fight a few cans, then one of the contenders before taking on Silva again, just so we can be sure he's healthy and back in the swing of the fighting game. If he gets back with Silva immediately, it will be after a long layoff, getting his face kneed in, then another long layoff. I would hate to see what happens if he gets put in that cold.

I give this one to GSP actually...Hughes looked terrible against him last time, if I am remembering correctly. If Hughes hadn't pulled out one of the greatest armbars I've ever seen with almost no time left in the round, he was done (ONE SECOND LEFT IN THE ROUND). Hell...if GSP had just known how much time was left, he could have waited out the second.

Not to mention the fact that GSP is just a beast, and can outstrike the hell out of Hughes any day. If he doesn't let Matt LnP him, he should be fine...I dont think he'll have a real problem with GnP at all. So either GSP by TKO in the third, or Hughes by decision.
Boxing is like a handjob, and MMA is like a hot sweaty orgy with 5 chicks. I could never say no to a handjob, but which would you rather have?

I wish Franklin the best, seems like a nice guy, haven't seen the Silva fight, but I heard he got KO'd.
Now onto George St. Pierre, I love this guy, defineately one of my favorite MMA fighters, he does shat in real life in the octagon that you saw Jean-Claude Van Damme do in the movies. He's flashy and effective. He destroyed Frank Trigg and looked good against Hughes till he got submitted. I hope he wins, but Hughes is a great fighter, and really tough to beat, the guy always seems to find a way to win. Hughes has got to be the greatest UFC WW Champ of all time.

If BJ Penn never injured himself Hughes would have been beaten badly every round(just like he was battered in rounfd 1 and 2) Hughes was very VERY fortunate

I can't imagine either being willing to put their reputation on the line.
