Julian Jackson KO's Herol Graham
yep just a shame this happened to him

YES I have seen the fight he was unlucky I still think he was GOOD
Herol was a great fighter, he never got a shot at the title I feel when he was at his best. Even the first attempt I felt he was sliding.

Graham used to bet people in the gym that they couldn't land a clean punch on him. Check this out...They used to get a Broadsheet newspaper (Times etc) and open it out on the floor of the gym then Graham would stand one end and with his toes just on the edge (same with the other fella) and then put his hands behind his back and give them 30 seconds to try and land one.
Loads of people failed and parted company with £10.
Apparantley no one ever managed it!
He was such an evasive fighter Graham, master of defensive boxing and i remember being shocked when Jackson turned him off that night.
Heavy KO
Rember the fight with Mike McCallum he made him look bad and Mc was a hell of a boxer one of the best at the time. Herol made him look a fool nice to look back in time.
I think he was past his best even then

Graham's career was a lot at light middle, don't know why he moved up in weight but his style & punch power probably suited that division better. He never looked a big middleweight, maybe he moved up to try to cash in on the domestic scene at middle at the at time (Sibson, Kaylor Christie etc).
He was a good fighter (and a nice guy), definitely good enough to have picked up an alphabet title. That was always going to be the only way he ever made any decent money as everyone avoided him like the plague as he made his opponent look as bad.

Graham was not everybody's cup of tea, his style of boxing of to hit and not be hit was not to everyone's
taste, I no a few people back in the day used to hate him , I on the hand used to think how clever and
crafty he was, a great pity he was never a World champion never mind he was a Champion in my eyes.
This is a nice interview of Graham on Talk Sport about his mental health issues.
