He has made other really good observations too. Obviously he is much quiter nowadays but I love his random ramblings! Recently, his points about Warren and his interview with Floyd after the Baldo fight were cool too.

I have a STRONG disliking of Kellerman. Very enthusiastic but makes ALOT of mistakes(during 1 fight,he said Manny koed MAB in the 5th round about 3 times for example!) and there's his incredible nuthugging of certain fighters(Williams). I don't know,he comes across manufactured to me!
Plus he suffers from 'crazyeyes' and looks like he's been snorting coke a couple hours before the show start. Actually maybe HBO are trying to diversify and have people from all different addictions and misdemenours represent them.

We've got the alcoholic Merchant, the wife beating Lampley, now we get the young drug addict Kellerman. If they could only get Tyson and Don King to guest commentate their rape and murder convictions would give a more well rounded feel to the show and ensure that all bases were covered.
CC. You are one funny ass sex pervert you know that?

haha I LIKE scones dont use scone as a metaphor, scones are delicious!

personally i think RJJ was the best commentator HBO had in a loooooooooooong time!

I agree...I think I have mentioned that on another thread once...IMO Jones was a good commentator...Had a bit of a personality but was professional and not biased....

Lennox isn't to bad he just needs to lighten up a bit...

I don't care who they get NO ONE!!!!! Will be a replacement for Larry....

To bad they couldn't have John Scully on the broadcast I always though Scully was a decent commentator...

    WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY?!
John Scully is THE most boring SOB ever to call a fight, cept maybe Fran Charles. I'm sure he is a pretty good trainer and was a good fighter, but his voice is so depressing and boring. Also he says outlandish shat sometimes on those ESPN Classic broadcasts just to get a rise. Like during a Pazienza fight he goes on how a good amatuer would beat a top pro for the first 4 rounds, and win if it was just a four round fight. Ridicilious...

I would have hoped you knew that was Sarcasim especially since I wrote it after Saying No One can replace Merchant

My bad. I'm not a big fan of sarcasm, less I'm the one being sarcastic. Yeah, point is, Scully sucks as a commentator.

While I often hated Merchant, I can't deny that him and Lampley were a hell of a team. I've always liked Max way back from his ESPN Around the Horn days so I think that he's a great and extremely competent replacement. But some of Merchant's post fight interview antics will definitely be missed.

Imagine Mike Tyson taking his place, and then after Lampley says something to irk Mike, Tyson would just pounce on him WWE style

Actually, I think Tyson would make an awesome commentator!
Not only would he be damn entertaining, he has pretty deep boxing history knowledge.
I'm sure people who aren't regular boxing fans would tune in to see what crazy thing he says too so it'd be good to draw atention to the sport on that degree.
And he could probably use the money!

I see no downside to this marriage!

Co-sign. He'd be better than Lennox's boring ass.

Oh I agree Mike is real smart about boxing and his knowledge and historical awareness are 2nd to none. The only problem is I think he is to unpredictable to put on live air

I think people have a huge misconception about mike being unpredictable. as long as you don't head butt him repeatedly, he won't do anything outrageous.
