Yeh, I worry about his hands, can they stand up to a 12 round war??

I just think no matter what he does, it won't be down to achivement it will be the fault of

    a. The ref
    b. The venue
    c The crowd
    d The time difference
e The opponent being a rookie
    f The opponent being shot

apperently DiBella and Palle is meeting face-to-face

I believe taylor vs kessler would have a better chance of happening for the simple fact kessler would go to the US to fight him where Calzaghe seems to want everybody to run to him.
Super Middleweight also acknowledge as Kessler's Kingdom when Calzaghe has retire

Would you say the same about an American fighter fighting in US that had been World Champion for 10 years??

The problem is MOST Calzaghe knockers, on these boards, only saw him for the first time when he whooped Lacy. Now Lacy has been written off as shit, they look at Calzaghe's record and query if the guy is so good why hasn't he fought Hopkins, Jones, etc.. so obviously he's a protected Euro bum - aka Sven Ottke

Whereas those of us that have followed his entire career realise although it's disappointing the big fights haven't happened there have been some legit excuses along the way.

    CC for that mate

Yeh, I have lost patience with his career path, basically because, as you say, I have followed his career, and know things like only losing 4 amatuer fights in 130 and winning 3 consecutive aba's means you have natural talent in abundance

Ive not liked him since 1996 when he fought Mark Delaney in his 17th pro fight lets have it right Jeff Lacy was overrated it was a good win but not a great win the thing with Taylor is he is a middleweight who has recently been fighting lightmiddles and when going backwards does'nt really throw much i think if Calzaghe beats him he won't get as much credit as people think Kessler is the better match but going on his last fights i think Calzaghes done and i think Taylor UD12 and Kessler stops him late

And he's been an excellent pro champion too, but it seems the timing has been off in regards to fight choices, injuries, problems outside the ring, that have prevented him from becoming the star he promised...although ultimately the blame lies with him.

I still think his display over Lacy was a brilliant peice of boxing and, to put it this way, will probably serve to be the most emphatic ass whopping Lacy will ever receive.

But yeah, i defo agree with you on your opinion of the Taylor match up. The Cal-Tay match up is a bigger fight for Taylor who, for me has still got a lot to prove as far as p4p status goes.

    Now,
    I wanna say something.....

Ive got a big problem with the spin that this Palle bloke (or whatever his name is) has been talking.

Talking about 'Kessler will accept terms and conditions of "complete parity" or a 50-50 all revenue split'.

What an utter pile of dog crap! That is not what i expect to hear from Kessler.
How does he manage to consider himself a bigger ticket seller than Calzaghe?
Calzaghe sold 35,000 fighting some one who is such a looser, he went on a show to compete with another bucnh of loosers and finished 2nd!

So i'll ask again... How does he manage to consider himself a bigger ticket seller than Calzaghe? Because that, surely is the only thing that has an affect on a purse split, right? Who's the bigger draw.

So here's my thoughts on Kessler:
Kessler, you aint anywhere near a 10-year long, 20-defence champion filling out National stadiums yet.
    You don't deserve 50%!

And whats this crap about by-passing Joe to fight Taylor? Wow...And what Who will be next? Calzaghe. Waiting in Cardiff. Right were you left him when you was asking for half.

I think Kessler deserves 50/50 if he comes to fight here giving Calzaghe home advantage and lets not forget Kessler has the 2 world title WBC/WBA 50/50 is fair

So? He beat a Mundine who is no where near the fighter he is today and Beyer, who is far removed from the fighter he was yesteryear... Which wasn't much IMO.

My point is ABC straps mean nothing here... As far as purses go. You forget Joe had two belts too. And just to reiterate:

Kessler aint anywhere near a 10-year long, 20-defence champion filling out National stadiums yet.

So i really don't think 50/50 is far unless your blinkered and only looking at the past 6 months.

    Well said Jimboo

The 50/50 all in split is a joke. And Palle knows it too
