Calzaghe does'nt hit as hard as Tarver and Johnson so i doubt he would stop him Jones did well in his 3rd fight with Tarver this would still be a step up for Calzaghe even though Jones is 38 and me personally fancy Jones chances to beat Calzaghe
I have serious doubts about Roy getting back down to 168 after a decade of being at 175 or above.
It will be hard but it is only 7lbs if he does it right he will be ok
I think Jones could pull it of, but he is no manFRODO, sorry I sometimes get confused Manfredo , so I would regard this as a valid fight. If Jones really want this fight let him have it, since Kessler is not stepping up an the plate right now.
To Frank I will fight Calzaghe myself I only take 5% call me the Danish bacon warrior, a know brand and maybe the Americans think that I'm Kessler, and I´m undefeated
I would fight Calzaghe for free if i could get down to 12 stone Frank could lie to the paying public again saying im unbeaten in 20 odd fights
Umm i need to know how Jones done in his last fight before i make any sort of prediction but good thing is Jones never accepts for less money so Jones must be hungry lets hope he is really up for this fight and can give us good showing.
He did well in his last fight and he did'nt do to bad in his last Tarver fight
WATCH OUT CALZAGHE!!!
40-60 HE KIK YO ASS
Cause a Supposedly faded Jones would be the toughest fight in the career of a much celebrated champion who along with his promoter has managed to buffalo the general public on his choice of opponents throughout the ladder stages of his career. thats whyOriginally Posted by Bilbo
He wont fight Jones but had no problem fighting Bika and Manfredo who supposedly was Joe's golden ticket to american superstardom... Why not fight our generations most gifted fighter and great who regardless of peak condition or not garners more in the american public eye..... Again I'll answer that cause that whole Manfredo waste was his easy way to 20, and I'm sorry but Rjj is bigger, faster, stronger and would beat Calzaghe from pillar to post
Mick I almost fell off my chair!!!!!!! you are a very intelligent man, consider Calzaghe who has twigs for hands and dosent have the power to KO Jones and will most likely try to slap him to death.. Jones will have no respect for Calzaghe's power and at 38 will still be more elusive than any one Joe has fought and is still faster and stronger than him... You best believe Roy still has the snap to bust Calzaghe up.Originally Posted by CutMeMicK

OR SLAPPED HALF TO DEATH.... I already know who I'm inviting to my 1st picnic this summer Joe Calzaghe... he can keep all the flys out of me potato salad with those fast swatting hands...Originally Posted by Fenster
Fenster I luv ya like a fellow boxing brutha.. But you of all people should know Joe deserves every last bit of this critisim and more.... Again Manfredo was the golden ticket to american superstardom.... Why not Jones, he is still 10x the fighter Manfredo is and would garner 50x the appeal to the american public.... AND YOU KNOW THIS MAN
What, he's willing to fight a never-proven Manfredo but not a past-proven Jones? Seems to me the time to be selective about quote-unquote inferior opponents has come and gone. Step in, beat Jones, and Calzaghe will really get his name in neon lights.Originally Posted by eagle

I don't understand why you think Calzaghe wouldn't want this fight? This would be like a dream come true to him...and believe me you'll be in a slim minority that actually think Old Roy has a chance.Originally Posted by JT Rock
But this fight wont happen.
1. Roy probably thinks there's about $30m in the pot. Thats why he's happy for 40%
2. Roy has about as much chance as Butterbean in getting to 168.
3. Roy aint stupid. That's why last time seen in a ring he fought for $500,000 against Prince Onion Bahji.
