Default NEWS FLASH - WonJongkam trying to break his record!!

Reigning WBC Flyweight Champion Pongsaklek Wonjongkam (65-2-0 with 34 KOs).
Is leaving his native Thailand to fight in Japan for the first time on more than two
    years.

    His opponent is Daisuke Naito

Wonjongkam has beat Naito twice already the first time being the record
for the quickest KO in Flyweight history at 34 seconds.

One of these days Wonjongkam has to fight a live body...........
    Or not..............
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

Wonjongkam needs to fight Arce, Mijares, Darchinyan or Donaire. He's become a joke.

though wonjongkam has beaten this jap twice before, i wouldn't completely discount naito's chances in japan. i hate protected fighters like pongsaklek and i hope he loses.

I really do wish the fight with this guy and Darchiniyan had happened. But Donaire would handle him easily too

yeah in the sense hes getting no american backing...

im from from an expert on this guy, but from whati understand from The Ring there is no real interest in him from the american TV so there is no money for other fighters who we know to fight him... It's easy to say sure he should go here and there and fight these guys, but no one takes massive pay cuts to spend 2 or 3 fights fighting on undercars to get a name...

That's right Preme. For a start the system in Thailand is different.
Pongsaklek pretty much does what his manager tells him.
He is a very skilled boxer but his backers want the best return they can get from him. They don't care if he fights nobodies forever so long as they get their money with minimal risk.
For them he's a safe investment - they just have to keep him winning.
But he is a very good boxer. I think he would have outboxed Darchinyan like Donaire but I doubt whether we will ever see him in a big battle against the top names in the division.
Hope I'm wrong because I have seen him fight against Hussein and he is very talented.

When i saw the title, I immediately thought..."He's going to fight a chipmunk in his next fight to cement his image as the most protected fighter in history"

But Chris John has beaten some good fighters on the top level - Gainer and Marquez especially.
They are opponents most fans know.
Pongsaklek's opponents aren't nearly as well known.
I really love watching Chris John. I saw him fight in Sydney and he is a great boxerf, very skilfully, great balance.
Nothing flashy but just a really well-schooled package, hard tio hit and never wastes a punch.

'Heard Pongsaklek Wonjongkam is a superstatious guy.

He only want to defend his belt in asian countries only.

Well, if he wants more dough and gain more respects, then he should fight the flyweight top dogs in US.
