Luevano isnt a banger and that first knockdown was a sickener, really took the wind out of his sails. Harrison was his best shot at a title, he would have beaten him IMO. Disgracefull chain of events that was.
When God said to the both of us "Which one of you wants to be Sugar Ray?" I guess I didnt raise my hand fast enough
Charley Burley
Yeah I think he can, but he just wasn't ready this time. He needs to get back on the horse and work at it. Feather is weak enough for him to get another chance at somebody. I was concerned going in but I wanted to believe in him. He'll win it eventually IMO.
Even before the first knockdown, brief time that it was, Cook looked like he didn't have a clue. As you say once that occured he was always gonna be struggling.Originally Posted by Memphis
I think it was simply a case of Cook being found out at this level. Maybe he can move up to superfeather where theres some cracking matches he could get involved in.
3-Time SADDO PREDICTION COMP CHAMPION.
I don't think he was found out, I just don't think he prepared himself mentally. I've never seen a fighter look as nervous as that while fighting. It was as if he'd forgotten what he planned to do.Originally Posted by Fenster
I would most defintely class failing mentally as being found out. Probably more important than anything.
Luevano was beatable yet Cook was out thought, out speeded, out powered, and as you say lost it mentally.
I'm a fan of Cook but to be honest ive never seen him as a world beater so wasn't surprised at the result.

I wouldn't have called Luevano a world beater either. Being was is not a requirement of being a world champ these days. Look at the Heavies!Originally Posted by Fenster
While i know what your saying, I just think nerves got the better of him. Second time out, I think he'll be able to prepare himself better mentally for the job at hand.
He actually had to get the London Underground to get to the O2 Arena due to car trouble.
If it's anything like my Journeys he'd have been Hot,bothered, stressed and Knackered before he even got their
Agree he did look Lost/clueless in their
Oh well that explains it! You ever find yourself passing through Canning Town, you know your gonna be short on fortuneOriginally Posted by Smashup
