IS it a regional title? If so, what region? This is the belt the Pacman has been defending for the past couple of years.

i think it's the title for those ranked below the top ten.I'm not really sure.

Its a belt often seen as a stepping Stone, when Ricky Hatton beat Castillo, i think he picked up a WBC International belt. I also think Miguel Cotto held it at light welter for a time.

well in one word to express its value ......................

its a title for anyone or anything so the WBC get a sanctioning fee
Remember reality is an illusion caused by a lack of alcohol .
I went to the WBC website, and there is even a section called "International Title" and in that section, there is a subsection called "about the international Title" and they never once explan what it is. They only talk about how great it is, who has held it.
Isn't a title only as great as the champion who holds it tho?
If a good champion holds the title, it make4s it quite a good trophy to win.

right... still none of us know!!!
hows it different to the Intercontinental title?
I gotta apologise, i just glanced at the thread title and assumed it said intercontinental title.
As the WBC is governed out of Mexico ( i think?) perhaps the international title is a new name for the south american title or an american continental title?

nope. it's the title for those ranked below 10.I somewhat read it somewhere.

That makes no sense. Pacquaio is rated #1, MAB is rated #3. McCall (#3) is defending the same title against Gomez (#5) in two weeks. Rudolf Kraj (#3) holds it at cruiser, Denis Inkin (#2) at SMW. At LHW Diaconu held it (#1), but apparently gave it up somehow by being mandatory. Now Peter Venancio (#4 - and a _very_ mysterious #4, but thats another story) fights Silvio Branco (#7) for it.Originally Posted by brucelee
Hatton-Castillo was for the same belt as well. Ranking mess or no mess, they must have been in the top 10 (Hatton has now somehow managed to be WBC #1 at 147).
Anyway, WBC doesnt have an Inter-Continental belt, they just have an International belt. Which, I guess, is exactly the same thing, just by a different name.

Yeah i meant the "title" situation. Its impossible to keep track of them all.

Its a title for boxers ranked from 30 - 11 in the WBC rankings and the owner of such title can box for the main WBC belt without having a top ten ranking, not that not having a top ten ranking seems to stop title bouts happening.Originally Posted by lance Uppercut
