THE Mike Jameson?
Buster Mathis Jr.
OK, he beat old Larry Holmes, little Michael Spinks, Frank Bruno, and Donovan Rudduck but vs the guys people compare him against he is 0-3-0!
He lost to Lewis when he was really old, we'll take that away.
VS Holyfield....he had NOTHING to offer Evander.
He did whip Golota but he was damaged goods when he fought Tyson.
I just wish he had fought these guys:
Moorer
Mercer
Morrison
Briggs (it would have been good to see him absolutely whip that punk)
Bowe (after Bowe's trilogy with Holyfield Tyson would have a shot)
Rahman
No doubt Tyson was a good boxer and fun to watch I just don't rate him with the best
Again you compare it all post jail, Lyle....Prime, Tyson kicks all those punks....
you doubt it lyle?
Really? Hilarious.
He was and is my favorite of all time but as hard as it is and was to admit he was gone along time ago. Before jail he was gone!
I'm not talking "Prime" Tyson I'm talking just in the 1990's....as a Tyson fan would you not want to have seen him fight those guys?Originally Posted by miles
I think a post jail Tyson vs Ray Mercer would have been a big battle...maybe that's just me though.
I think once Douglas beat him he just gave up on his career
That's a fair point Lyle. I see what you are saying and perhaps if Tyson had made better decisions in his private life we could have seen him excell. I still think he was one of the best though just with the speed this guy brought to the heavyweight division and he certainly was an exciting fighter to watch. Who knows what could have happened though if he kept out of trouble??

I'm not stating 100% absolute fact, I'm just posing some questions, playing some Devil's advocate, and saying Mike was the perfect fighter everyone loves to remember...yeah he took advantage of mistakes, as most good fighters do
Buster Douglass crushed his spirit.
