i hear that if u pick up weights and practise punching with those in your hands it will make your punches stronger?

Nah weights wont really do much. Ul have to ioncrease the strength of ur entire body, so core work, back work, calisthenics and most importantly cardio, speed and stamina training will all combine to improve ur punches power

Force= Mass x Acceleration
In order to increase your force you have to have either size or snap speed or both. Punching with weights will increase your speed and amount of force you will put on your opposition. Cardio wont improve your punches strength, cardio will improve the amount of punches you can throw before you get tired.
I remember reading somewhere about people who could break cinder blocks and 1 layered brick walls with their hands. Apparently theres this chemical fluid or layer of something that your body has around some bones, and anyway its above the knuckles, and these people keep practicing and training their knuckles but continually punching these objects, later the body rebuilds a layer or 2 over it, and over time your punches are extremely strong due to the build up of layers of this tissue. Kind of like the process of building muscle tissue, if u know what i mean. May seem like bullshit but it does make sense if you think about it.
Its a Cartilage like substance.
Some body parts never cease growing. In fact the more u use them and the harder u apply them the more they grow. For example the ears and the nose never stop growing. Hands too grow in size and hardiness the more they are used, but that is usually by exerting force through them by working, not by abusing them.

Hmm interesting, would you know what chemical the body would need to help develop this cartilage substance
The chemical? Well man i'm not certain off hand. Iv moved away from the sciences really in the last couple of years so i really cant recall.
It's worth investigating tho as right now my hands are hurting like hell!
I'll look into it, if i find anything il send u a PM, feel free to do likewise

Endorphins are your bodies own analgesic, without sounding mystic,it boils down to pre-convincing the head to convince the body that what hurts, doesnt.Originally Posted by hitmandonny

Course if Id blocked the left hook,I wouldnt be in this predicimant
Oh Monkey i got a question....Sorry for going off topic here.
But i got a real slick southpaw to spar tonight. Damn near untouchable he's got such great movement and unpredictable too. Any tips.

jab straight down the pike, and quickly step to your right throwing a hook or a crossOriginally Posted by hitmandonny
Also pressure alot
Allways keep in mind that even though you feel wide open, the southpaw is too,so take the angles
Avoid going to your left, your walking in to their jab,and giving them a chance to wind up their left, out of your peripheral vision
Thing is, his movement is superb, i mean unreal! He very hard to pin and i only tend to score in clinches or glancingly on the lunge, will throw the jab down the pike tho i think i can make that work.. Lack of Padwork and trainers advice really showing.

Why your throwing the straight jab,and stepping, you want his hands to go tight long enough for you to move without him moving with you,if you step to the side fast enough, and do it fast enough, your temporarily taking yourself out of his jabs effective range, while giving you two free hands,in other words your halving his options, while keeping both of yours openOriginally Posted by hitmandonny
