I still think Peter smokes Maskaev. He's been knocked out early by lesser punchers and it's about time we saw Peter's once heralded power again.

Sam Peter does a spectaculer demolition job inside 5 rounds.

I agree, but mainly because Peter will have made sure he's sharp and ready for Maskaev's style specifically. I think his being hurt against McCline could only serve him better for now, a wake up call of sorts. Mind you, if it was Maskaev in there instead of McCline, I think he may very well have KO'ed Peter, and I certainly was unimpressed with that performance from Peter. I wonder if this fight being remade had to do with Maskaev realizing he has a much better shot than he gave himself at first

I still think Peter will KO Maskaev. More so know that McCline's moment has given Maskaev false hope.

Oh now he wants to fight. i agree Maskaev seen his Peter last fight and grew confidence. It doesn't matter though. Peter looked terrible in last fight and i think he lost but i am pretty sure he put Maskaev flat on his ass.

I still think Peter wins by KO, but I like Maskaev's chances much better. McCline is not a big puncher and almost put Peter away. For all of Oleg's limitations (and there are many), he is an excellent puncher.

I disagree about Peter looking terrible. He recovered well from the knockdowns and clearly won the second half of the fight. By the last couple rounds the fight had shifted entirely in Peter's direction and there was no question about the verdict imo.

He came back from adversity and rettok command of the fight. He done good.

I still think Peter's trouble with McCline was that he didn't "get up" for that fight. It will be a different story against Maskaev: Peter to win by KO.

Maskaev by Shocking very early stoppage, Maskaev knows that he can't trade with this guy and has to land the bricks of right hands and he probably now thinks he has a helluva chance in doing so. Peter lost confidence in his chin post Wladimir and has propably really lost confidence in his ability to take a punch after McCline. I think Peter fought his last great foul fested fight against W.Klitschko.
