    Default Permanent wrist pain?

For the last few months my right wrist has pretty much had a permanent pain in it. Not a constant pain, but whenever I move it to certain angles, twist it a certain way, put ANY weight on it, carry something in an awkward way I get sharp pains in the joints.

I havn't really had any one injury from boxing that caused the damage to my joint, so I really think it's just the constant wear and tear has done it's job and now my wrist is f'd for life. I've done a little shadow boxing for the past few months which even that causes a little discomfort, but I havn't been able to use the bag at all even fully strapped up and with good gloves...

It's really disheartening that i've been resting it for this long and it just seems to be maintaining that same condition permanently.

I work in an office and just turning pages over continuously can become very painful.

Pretty much, I think my wrist is F'D.

    ****

Has anyone else suffered from anything similar and had a light at the end of the tunnel?
There was an early stage in my boxing where I used the bag a lot without wraps before I knew how extremely important they are,,, and I think it's possible that that's what's coming back to haunt me....

If their is any positive out of this, Newbies must take note that you should always wear wraps when using the bag or doing any heavy training as i'm begining to realise that once the damage is done, it may never get better and could put a large dent in your boxing and training capabilities in the future..

Finally, i've booked in to see a physiotherapist in a few days to get some actual professional advise, but it hasn't felt good so far.

Yeah i used to have constant pain in my wrist when i started boxing, i think it was from throwing hooks & uppercuts incorrectly.

I now take fish oils and although they are a simple solution i really do feel the do wonders for all joints and bone problems.

I've actually got a tonne of those somewhere so i'll definetly give those a go as well.

The whole glucosomine thing has been played out for old people with joint problems so I might try those as well for a few months.. If they are as good as everyone says also. Although they are a lot more expensive than fish/flaxseed oil simply because their is a fad around them at the moment..

Thanks heaps for the tip though, i'm going to start taking these things today.

the only advise of a medical nature i will give is do not repeat do not get a cortisone shot. this will make all pain go away but you will simplyy use injured ligaments/tendons/whatever with out feeling pain yet cause so much extra damage. see a real doctor or physical therapist...they will help also try a mri if you can afford one and correct upper cut and hook punches if you feel these could be a problem. another piece of advice, keep your mind on what you are doing and on the hear and now in the gym...it is easy to throw slop once you stop paying attention..hope this helps

Our minds are the smartest computers in the physical universe and it runs our body on many different levels. Some consiously some sub consiously and they can roll over fro one to the other when we slip or allow it.
There s a form of mind body practice that connects body strengths /weakneses to prefeelings or prethoughts.

Like heart attack people can cure themselves by reprogramming their subconsiouss by saying over and over "I am love,I love all things including myself ,it flows freely through me ,etc.

For blood disorders ,its joy thats missing.

For brain its hardness of thoughts or wrong thinking.

For lungs its exceptance.breathing in the love of life etc.

For the wrists its (Movment and ease)freedom of movement through experiences.
So if you write down and read aloud if possible as you wake and just before you sleep
"I handle all my experiences with wisdom, with love and with ease."
It will bring the sub consiouss balance of that situation back into line so your natural healing energies can do their stuff faster without any blocks.

Thanks although its not mine,I've seen the results and feel the truth in all of it too.

I think its the bud, when people say nip it in the bud.

Drop the word (permenent) when talking/thinking about any problems.
Your sub consious can do what its told to do literally; to the letter ,it has no sence of humor like your consiouss state has.

Depends how far along it is.
This is the tricky part, carpal tunnel is a repetitive motion stress injury, usually work related. Now if its not that far along,it can often be treated with just a wrist brace and a more ergonomical work station. But of course this makes the employer liable, and theyll try any little niggling thing they can to prove its not their fault, just like when I was sent to a company doctor after having a 1000 pound roll of paper ran right in to my knee(I used to work as a printer)to be told I had an "efusion of the left knee"(it translates to swelling of the left knee,I allready knew that)and they didnt know how it happened, but it certainly wasnt the roll of paper by gum.
When I went on to another job with some decent healthcare,I had to have the weekend from hell on some serious anti-inflamatory drugs for it,otherwise it probably would have ruptured. It was the weekend from hell because interestingly enough,if you arent in to drugs, you take the first pill, and say,"Hey cool,Im stoned out of my gourd and someone else is paying for it."
By day 3,the novelty has well and truly worn off to the point, youd do anything not to take another one,but youve got to fight this week, and you promised everyone, and you dont want to suck,so you take the next pill.
Ask Feur about it,at that point I think I was in tears about taking one.
    Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm,memo to self,acquire rant control.

Its not by any means certain its your wrist where the problem lies. Get the line back to the 5th vertebrae by a good Oesteopath checked.
Pain lasts a only a minute, but the memory will last forever....

Hey guys thanks for all the replies.

I saw the doctor and he's suggested to keep it resting some more. I've had to keep it a bit active lately and it isn't really getting a chance to heal. So i'm keeping it wrapped as much as possible the moment and i'll see how it goes and perhaps go to a specialist if need be in the future.
I also talked to the doc about fish oil tablets and he said I should definetly take those and possibly some glucosamine as i've actually had a bad knee joint over the past 6 months which has put my road work on hold also...

Thanks for the words Andre as well.. Always appreciated.... I used the word 'permanent' more to assist in best describing my condition/symptoms, I certainly beleive 100% in being positive wherever repair of the body is concerned. I assume every single day that my wrist is getting better today, and go on as if tomorrow the pain will be gone... I do suppose that's where the frustration came to write this post, as i've been expecting the pain to subside for quite a while.. But now i've got the doc monitoring it and i'm taking some supplements to hopefully improve the general condition of the joint, and i'll report back...

Everyone's info was freakin spot on though and I have a few things I can look into now after reading above.
