    Default Fighter of the Year

With wins over De La Hoya and Hatton. I think Mayweather has clinched his 2nd fighter of the year award.

I actually think it will go to Pavlik (and deservingly so). Floyd is clearly the creme of the crop, but Pavlik scored not one, but two knockouts, and both against guys who were favored against him. Historically 'Fighter of the Year' rarely goes to the best fighter in the world.

Pavlik, Donaire, and PBF all had a nice year.

Respectfully I'd still give it to Pavlik, as Miranda and Taylor were both supposed to expose Pavlik as a fake. And whether or not he is one, they didn't do it, and were considered the #1 and 2 threats in that division, and Abraham to I suppose. Hardly anyone in the boxing world gave Hatton a chance to beat Mayweather, and although his win over Hatton was impressive, Hatton was hardly considered a threat at WW. The win over Oscar was great also, and is a good argument for Floyd to get the honors. I wouldn't be upset if Floyd gets Fighter of the Year though. JMO

Hatton and DLH's pedigree speaks for itself. Two different types of fighter, two different weight classes, two different approaches from FMJ, one outcome.

Pavliks done well but Miranda and Taylor dont stack up to Hatton and DLH.

No, I agree with VD. The award will go to Mayweather. Pavlik had a very good year, but Mayweather fought and won the two biggest fights of the year.

I bet y'all are expecting me to big up my man Joe Calzaghe for this one, but I'm afraid I'm going to be boring and agree with most people on this thread so far in that Mayweather's two victories against two very different, but very good fighters put him head and shoulders above the rest, even though that it was also a great year for Calzaghe, Pavlik, David Haye, and Chad Dawson.

    I'd say Pavlik.

He turned himself from nobody to somebody.

Miranda and Taylor don't really compare to Oscar and Hatton but Mayweather was favourite against both. Pavlik was underdog.

My vote would go with Floyd he won two SuperFights this year.

Pavlik certainly has a worthy case and beating Miranda and Taylor is right-up there.

It definatly goes to floyd. Two megafights, two A-level compeditors, two virtuoso performances by Floyd.

I think Pavlik because he came out of nowhere, no one talked about him as the future of the Middleweight division and now look ??

Kelly 'The Ghost' Pavlik's shocking wins over Miranda and Taylor for sure.
He knocked both of them the phuk out in 7.
Congrats to Pavlik who gave us pure guts, heart and destruction.
I don't think Miranda or Taylor will ever be the same.
Floyd did nothing to De La Hoya and Floyd needed Cortez to help him with Hatton.
