    Default Abner Mares

Have you guys seen this young prospect? Seems like a solid puncher with speed and pretty good overall.

Skilled kid no doubt and now that Nachos got 'em his skills will elevate to another level if he applies himself.

Is it me or does he just look bored at times when he's in the ring. Like theres no fire there burning he's certianly looked more alive in other fights compared to his last one.

Yea but it was the biggest stage he had ever fought on, and he was in against a guy who if nothing else was very tough and game.. He had also only fought 8 rounds in his career before that. It's very understandable that he was as conservative as possible, tons of pressure on a guy who's being hyped up like that in his major TV debut.. Specially as he would have realized early that the fight was going to the later rounds.

Great prospect one of the best at the moment, his punches are razor sharp and his counter shots are great to watch. Puts his punches together very well pretty much the complete package, but i don't think he is a hard puncher.

As for his last fight i don't think he looked bored or etc at all. Mares threw over 1000+ punches and hit Marchiano with everything but the kitchen sink. He was tested in that fight, and Marchiano forced him to to dig a little deeper than he has had to ever do. That was a great learning experience for Mares.
