im afraid to tell you Mr Morales but you are finished at the highest level
Remember reality is an illusion caused by a lack of alcohol .
Is this a pantomime?
Erik Morales: I'm not finished.
Audience: OOOOOOH Yes You A-Are.
Another depressing case of a guy who doesn't know when to call it quits.
I duno how much to read into an article that cant even get basic facts right . Its says he was stopped by Diaz ?! WTF !
Maybe he could fight Arturo Gatti at a catchweight I'd like to see that, and for once one of them will actually winOriginally Posted by superheavyrhun
Erik, when you lose to David Diaz, that means you're finished.
Sit back and relax, and celebrate your Hall of Fame induction in 5 years.
He wants to be the only Mexican to hold belts in four different weight classes. I could see him beating Diaz or Casamayor, otherwise he should stay retired. Its a shame he should have got the nod against Diaz but what are ya gonna do? He doesnt seem punchy in interviews.
im with you, eric may not be as good as before but at lightweight i think he still can win his fourth division title.I also think he should of won against daiz, i think rematch or a casamayor fight will make sense.Originally Posted by No Contest
by the way.
Eriks among my all-time favorites in the top 10.
Sad and bummed to read things like this. The harder part about it is that it's only a matter of time before he's really hurt in a fight.
erik got stopped? i thought david diaz hit the canvas....Originally Posted by GAME
ERIK.. i salute you man... ur not finished at all. stay in lightweight where youre comfortable with your weight. your still the best mexican fighter better than mab and juanita.

I so agree. What's so worrying is,after the David Diaz fight,he complained to Bob Arum of a ringing noise in hears when he got punched. Arum said he would never promote Morales again. I hope no-one else does either. He needs to give it up.Originally Posted by CutMeMick
Had Diaz met Morales 2 years earlier Morales would have crucified him.
Although I felt Morales won on activity Diaz was the stronger puncher on the night, so I say to Morales, let it go, perhaps get into training or promoting or something...

I think Morales should go watch himself in his prime then go watch his fights with Pacquiao 3 and Diaz. Its totally different and he didn't even look like the same fighter in those fights, i thought Morales would be wise enough to see it, but i guess he will join the big list of past there prime fighters who fight until there in there early 40's who then add more and more losses to fighters who wouldn't of even made Morales breathe hard in his prime. Morales has one of the best resumes of the modern era and he has gave us some of the greatest fights of all time, what a shame to see this modern legend ruining himself because he is blinded by the fact that his days are over.
Erik is in my all-time Top 3, behind only Whitaker and Mayweather. And you're right, he is a big injury risk at this point. He has been in tons of wars and has taken as many blows to the head as any active fighter. He even said after the Diaz fight that punches that never bothered him before were now hurting him to the head. He is a prime candidate to be punch-drunk later in life. I hope someone can convince him to stay retired.Originally Posted by CutMeMick
