I mean going by what's written and said he would have gone undefeated and would have retired undefeated also. Cause for starters he was robbed in all of his loses and the Draw. Then the other loses he has don't really count cause he wasn't the same Pernell and was past it. But would he have won those fights instead of loosing it would have added to his legacy but since he lost they don't count.
C'mon Mick, this isn't a fair post. You're WAY smarter than this.

Everyone acknowledges that Pernell lost fair and square to Trinidad.

Just about every Pernell fan acknowledges that the Oscar fight was a very close fight that easily could have gone to either fighter. The complaining with that fight is strictly about the gap in the scorecards (which is exactly what this author talks about). The scorecards were so wide that it gives the apperance that Pernell needed a KO to have a chance to win.
If Oscar had won by a split decision where all the card were about 115-113, you would hear very little complaining about that fight, it wouldn't make any Top 10 controversial decisions list.

That was simply a close fight that could have gone either way: not controversial.
I completely agree with you here.

    Good one RozzySean....
I had YoryBoy up by 3 rounds in the fight vs. Duddy.
    What a fight that was....

More then anything I just dislike excuses about when fighters loose.
I especially hear this about Pernell the most. Every fight was robbery every fight something went wrong.
I guess I was just venting there.....

Hopkins-Calzaghe was a close fight, but difinitely not controversial.

    Ps.

Chuck Giampa is a dumb ass with his 116-111.

sturm-de la hoya was daylight robbery, i had felix by 2-3 rounds like most people did. Scorecards predictably came back all with the 115-113 result, something was definetly up that night!!

How the hell lewis-holyfield 1 got scored a draw still amazes most. female judge scored round 5 to evander when it was lennoxs best round of the fight!!

pac-marquez 1 was harsh to say the least, Manny just threw uncontrolably that night, JMM was picking his punches far more effectively and i had him winning by 3 rounds!!
    one dangerous horrible bloke

Summat dodgy was going on there cuz scoring the fight to Evander is almost expected from her but giving him round 5 a round in which he got battered all over the place from start to finish proves that this woman was corrupt.
