Well deserved. I think it's about time but the NBA MVP isn't looked at like the NFL MVP or MLB MVP awards, stats don't factor in as much as much as importance to a team. Theres a reason he got the MVP it's because he got the Lakers back to number 1 and that was to much for his case.
He earned it though I think the Hornets have something special in Paul. He is the best point guard since Isiah Thomas and I really believe that. Watching these playoffs feel like the beginning of an absolute legend. He is so good and so dominant and we haven't seen it to this extent from the point guard position since Isiah. And that's including Jason Kidd imo although this team reminds me of those Nets teams that made it. Great point guards with a lot of movement around the basket and good defensively.
But we are seeing greater dominance then Kidd showed. He just knocked Kidd and Terry on their asses! And that is something that even the greatest point guards do. I mean he DOMINATED that series.
Chris Paul should have gotten it this year. Totally convinced of that. Can't persuade me otherwise.
That being said its a bit silly that this is the first time he's gotten one.
ITS ABOUT TIME!!!!!!!!!
Kobe has got to be one of the greatest player off all time. I got huge respect to the old school ballers but IMO only M.J had more fire and pure basketball skills. The old school guys IMO are way to slow and basic compare to our era of players. They are faster, stronger, more athletic, skilled and if you match kobe against any old school player I'd put my money on kobe.
Uh, Hello, LeBron James.
This regular season
Bryant averaged 28.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 1.84 steals
James averaged 30.0 points, 7.9 rebounds, 7.2 assists and 1.84 steals
Bryant was second in scoring this season, behind James.
Well, Lebron James by definition might be the most valuable to his team and to his city, but to be the MVP you have to finish in first. Kobe Bryant is having a worse season statistically then he did the 2 years Nash won but since his team wasn't in first, they don't get votes. The Lakers finished first, KG finished first and Paul finished second and that's why they are the 3 clear cut favorites. After them you get Lebron and probably McGrady as the next two. But for this year it's not Lebron but he'll get one. I thought he should have picked it up last year and not Dirk.
It's official.
