i think theres an argument for it,as long as he keeps fighting well hes still a serious contender in the WW and LM,he looks far from a shot fighter and in my oppinion the fight(above)was a draw,

yeah he should definitly be considered, it'll be intresting to see where people would put him if he ko'd PBF, also if Floyd does get ko'd where
would he go? big ifs though
If he knocked out Floyd, I would think you'd have to rate him #1 P4P.
Oscar can still be considered a top p4p fighter . He fought the best and some experts thought he won and so did 1 judge . The crowd seemed to think Oscar won too.
He didnt stop Forbes on Saturday but neither would have Floyd if he were in there so I dont see how that makes it a bad display . Im quite looking forward to the rematch . I belive im in the minority though
Ofcourse Cotto - Floyd is the fight we wana see but who knows perhaps in December we will see Oscar - Cotto instead .
I have a hard time putting someone in the top 10 p4p list that hasn't beat anyone else in the top 10. The last time de la Hoya had a good win was against Vargas and that was back in 2002.
Furthermore, he has not been nearly active enough.
Pretty much EVERYONE actually. Margo, Berto, Cintron, Williams, or even the prospect Rock Allen,... if anyone of 'em beats Floyd,... they'd be in the top 5, or even automatically capture Floyd's throne.
I don't see DLH as a top 10 P4P of all time....I give him top 20 but top 10 I just don't see it other then the fact he has the title wins in 6 different divisions....
IMO he is not a better P4P fighter then...In no particular order
Robinson
Armstrong
Leonard
Pep
Ali
Benny Leonard
Greb
Hearns
Jones
Saddler
Moore
Arguello
Sanchez
Whitiker
Mosley...
IMO all of them were or are better fighters then Oscar....Now as far as legacy goes it is hard to top DLH but there is also a difference between legacy and P4P greatness....
P4P is based on skills and quality opponent wins...Oscar has lost to all 4 of the prime P4P ranked fighters he has faced...Hopkins/Tito/Mosley and Floyd

You have to defeat top pound for pound fighters to be considered a top pound for pound fighter, and it seems like Oscar loses to everyone good these days, except those that are no where near top fighters like Vargas, Forbes, Mayorga. Oscar beats an over-matched Gatti, an old Chavez twice, gets a gift against Whitaker, gets smacked around by Sturm-why does this guy still make so much money? Too many casual fans who don't know a damn thing about boxing.
At a time ...without a doubt.Today ? Forget about it. In my eye's he should be 2-4 over nearly the last five years, with the two victories against perfect Showcase-esqe fights/fighters In a blown up Forbes and Belt warming Mayorga.
Whats he done for us lately?
