When it comes to James Thompson, you never know what to expect. On some nights, he'll come out fighting and literally destroy his opponents, and you say to yourself "We've really got us a fighter here". But other nights, he fights like he doesn't have a heartbeat.

Both he and Kimbo showed their lack of experience last night, as there were several missed submission opportunities in which they could have put each other in an arm bar or a choke. More times than I can count, Kimbo practically gave Thompson the chance to put him in an arm bar, yet Thompson appreared as though he didn't know what he was doing.

But the worst part was when the ref stopped the fight, all because of Thompson's cauliflower ear busting. True, he did look a bit dazed when getting hit by Kimbo at that moment, but he was still returning fire.

And that wasn't the only fight that got stopped too early. The Lawler vs. Smith fight was also stopped due to Smith not being able to see. They should have at least gave him his 5 minutes, THEN checked him out to see if he could still see.

But Kimbo still has those hard punches, and he's got some pretty good knee-shots as well. I look forward to more Kimbo Slice fights in the future.

kimbo was exposed by thompson who is a not so good fighter. kimbo punches hard but not hard to KO even thompson. i believe that even a class b fighter like brandon vera can KO kimbo quick!

kimbo is also lousy on the ground he gave thompson a lot of opportunities for a submission. do that to a strong heavy who has an average jj skill and kimbo will be submitted.

I wouldn't have been shocked if Thompson would have won the fight if they didn't stop it then. Thompson had looked like that before after Kimbo hit him (albeit without the nasty ear) and he had come back just by taking him down, it wouldn't have shocked me if he had taken Kimbo down sometime after that and just held him down for the rest of the round.

Kimbo's just not much IMO, they better hope that fans who turn on the TV to see Kimbo end up liking MMA as a whole cause he's vulnerable as hell. And if people say well its cause he doesn't have much experience, that's kind of the point. He's had such a late start, and he's already 34.

And his conditioning looks kind of crappy, you could see that in that fight he lost on the internet, he was pretty gassed by the end of the first round last night.

Yes, a more experienced fighter would have obliterated Kimbo on the spot last night.

Kimbo does get gassed pretty easily, but Thompson is even worse about it than Kimbo. Toward the end he was so tired he could barely throw a punch.

Did you guys see Kimbo tapp? You could tell he was deprived of oxygen after the standing guillotine that Thompson slapped on him, he was real wobbly afterwards.

Yep. At first, I thought Kimbo had lost when he laid down on the ground like that.

Yes I like ol' Ferg, but I'm afraid that once he starts taking on the more experienced fighters (or IF, for that matter), then he will probably start losing and eventually drop out. But what can I say, he at least got a few wins so far, and I know he must have brought home at least some money.

Yes, kimbo was gassed and was out of his element on the ground but Thompson ate about 4 or 5 hard unanswered shots. He was done. Yes it was stopped early.. but only by about two punches.

the people who say kimbo sucks, well they're just stupid. He's been training mma for what 8 months yet he just beat a veteran who fought in pride.

fucking retards. find another board where your stupidity blends in.

hes just another bob sapp hype

not a MMA fighter just a puncher, its just fun to watch

hell i really thought kimbo lost the fight, because the ref should have stopped it in the second round because he was like stuck

but i dont agree with the ref of the stoppage, it was like 2 seconds too early

but clubber he wasnt fighting back, kimbo hit him with 8 good shots and james only got one, that didnt even hit kimbo
    mind over speed and power

You all say he is 34 but he looks 44. Greg Odum old.
