Question Kelly Pavlik the next "ROCKY MARCIANO??"

Hi their folks!!I've watched loads of Kelly Pavlik fights through the years and began to see a resemblance of the great ROCKY MARCIANO in him.I mean he has the raw power like him,and he fights on the front foot too,he moves very similar to how the ROCK did by pushing forward and being heavy handed in both hands too.But what i do feel stands out the most on the subject of Pavlik being like MARCIANO is that he plants his feet exactly more or less just like Marciano did.Nice and flat and solid.Could he be the present Marciano of the middleweights?.....i think so.He has everthing in he's arsenal.

Does anyone see a resemblance too, or it just me?

As an all American hero yes, to retire undefeated no, eventually there's going to be some young prospect that will come out and beat him. Only time will tell.

From what I've seen, Marciano was a lot more explosive and he seemed to possess more one-punch power, where-as Pavlik is just steady and constantly throwing combos with bad intentions on every punch.

imo pavlik is being so over hyped its untruee he still just has wins over taylor (no great shakes himself imo) and a weight drained Miranda, fair enough say all this when he has cleaned out 160 or 168 but not now

    yup very true

pavlik is much more mechanical in his approach

And if you wanna make the whole lifestyle comparisons i can name you a good dozen or so fighters of similar characteristics who were just as as succesful as pavlik.

ha yea a bit optimistic to start comparing him with Marciano.

He is only 26 yet though, and is seemingly developing as he goes. I wouldn't be too surprised to see his form change some with this process. I just feel he has that capacity.

See what happens after his next fight.

He also reminds me a little of Hagler. He has the power , the chin and he is huge. The sky is the limit.

Hopefully so. We need as many stars as possible in boxing after Floyd's retirement. Like was pointed out elsewhere, that he's white can't hurt too. We really need him to be a big success. Hopefully he becomes a big star. Not only does he hit really hard but he recovers well when he gets hit really hard, so all you need for a Marciano comparison is for him to retire undefeated.

Pavlik is a better fundamentally than Marciano, but obviously he won't have more one punch KO power, he's being compared to a heavyweight, and even Marciano wasn't a guy who often got his better opponents out of there early. He needed to bang them up.

I fail to see either comparison , Pavlik is taller and more upright than Marciano , and Marvin was shorter , a southpaw / switchhitter ,
Pavlik is Pavlik end of story , and you know thats not a bad thing at all.

    He was fighting Gary Lockett.
He KO'd a guy you had never heard of
A fucking nobody he was supposed to KO.
A guy who hadn't been operating at world level. Wow

He did precisely what he had to do last night. But let's not make it out to be more that it was

Well I guess so can still compare him to Marciano, seeing Rocky fought a bunch of guys with losing records

Kelly Pavlik reminds me of Michael Carbajal. Because they both wear red gloves.
