He's done more than fine with domestic level. Ain't his fault he can't get a good name on his record. He's called out Calzaghe numerous time, called Taylor out and Inkin pulled out twice. Nobody wants a part of him.
Couldn't he have fought Calzaghe at one point?
Froch has called Calzaghe out for years on end. Instead he goes an fights the mighty Peter Manfredo.
I'm trying to imagine Calzaghe being fine with fighting Hopkins in Vegas, but having a problem with Carl Froch instead of Manfredo in his backyard. Froch would get so relentlessly pummeled by an inspired Joe Calzaghe you would feel guilty for watching(imo). In fact Frochs best hope would probably have been for a similar stoppage to the Manfredo debacle, before he really got hurt.

    From Dan Rafael of ESPN.COM/Boxing:

"Besides two highly questionable results against Pacquiao, a split-decision loss to him in March and a draw in 2004, you can make a legitimate argument that Marquez should be undefeated. He lost his pro debut by first-round disqualification, a 1999 decision to Freddie Norwood in one of the ugliest fights ever because Norwood refused to fight, and a tight split decision to hometown fighter Chris John in Indonesia in 2006."

    Makes you really respect Marquez.

Like Amat said a guy like Casamayor is far beyond the point of being exposed. I mean you could (VD probably does) make the argument that he could be undefeated. Of course you could say he lost to Santa Cruz and Kid Diamond too.

All that being said, I got Marquez confidently.

    Come on Tam...

Casamayor and the word exposed shouldn't be used in the same sentence.
I'm not a Casa fan matter a fact I don't think I've ever been in his favor maybe a couple of times early in his career but I became frustrated with him with all his talks about not fighting and blaming everyone but himself.

Anyway my point is even if JMM beats Casa it wont be exposing Casa.
I mean Casa one of Cubas greatest.

I think if JMM beats Casa it def. put's him on level with MAB & Erik.

Before I used to rate them Erik, MAB & JMM in that order 1, 2 & 3.
With a win over Casa a case can def. be made that they are all the same or he's #1. With Erik #2 and MAB #3.

JMM wil beat Casa, and I won't be suprised if they put JMM ahead of PAC in the P4P ratings. JMM has very underated punching power and chin, JMM might as well be the most BALANCED fighter out there.

I hope the thread starter didn't pull a muscle reaching. Poor kid. Either way Casamayor ain't losing. Marquez is a great fighter. And has always been a favorite. But I think he's moving up one division to many.

One of the truly if not underrated, than under appreciated Fighters in the modern Era ....Marquez! He will have to be the aggressor here though. Both are tattered and hitting that other side off very top notch careers. Not comfortable with the extra weight & battle damage but I'm picking Marquez none the less True winner take all (Career) match.

This should be an excellent fight. Two technically brilliant fighters with a wealth of experience. If Marquez is victorious it by no means exposes Casamayor. Joel is one of the most proven fighters around... he has fought Corrales x3 & Castillo as well as a host top opposition. An argument could be made he should still be undefeated.

This is a fight between 2 highly proven warriors!!!

At this point, Casamayor can't be exposed. I do think Marquez would win but don't be surprised if he hits the deck.
That's pretty much it. As much as I would love to continue to use Calcrappy. I can't. It's not possible. He's beaten some fighters. Con and Fraud ain't done shit. While Casamayor has done a lot in his career. He's a borderline HOF. A win over Marquez will get him in.

    Keep trying Tam.

You know what , i think although both are a bit past their best ( and Joel is more past his best than JMM) this fight could be one for the purists , a real nice boxing bout , personally i would lean towards JMM on a split points , but its a real pick'em fight .

Maybe but the Katsidis fight was very entertaining & you know Marquez is coming to fight! It has the potential to be explosive!

That's interesting you feel that way. I would think him a pretty safe bet to get in at least at some point in his career win here or not.

Also it should be pointed out that Conamayor really is a lackluster attempt to make one of these names.

I think its 50/50 as far as where they both stand.

    Age Casa's older
    Fights JMM has more
    Hard fights/Wars JMM has more
Wear & Tare JMM has shown it a bit more
Showings in recent fights Casa has looked worst

Cant see how Casamayor will be exposed even if he loses he has proved throughout his career to be a great champion.

Its not a factor of being exposed. But Marquez will win this. He is too sharp right now.
