    Default timing

Timing and hand eye cordination is probably the most important skill in boxing, does anyone here know how to develop these skills without the use of sparring and pad work.

train at a gym.... I once heard of this ball which is attached to a kind of elastic. The elastic is tied to your head and you try and hit the ball. Is anyone familiar with this?

yea i think kosta Tsyzu uses something like that. there are also these balls that have rubber points all around it so it bounces in different directions everytime it hits the floor.

You can only improve timing with experience which means getting in the ring.
However you can improve reactions many ways, just search for reaction tests on the internet, drop ruler for example

Play table tenniss squash or hand ball is great for allthat.

you can tie a tennis ball with string to the edge of the eaves on your building and drop it down to your head height and punch and duck and weave as you hit it against the wall.

Sparring is also a good way to improve Hand Eye coord, also, freestanding men are great if you havnt got no one to spar with, although it wont exactly do a great deal for timing, it will sort of help your technique and you can improve on your combo timing.
