    Smile Andre Berto

After watching a number of his fights im not sure he can cut it at the top he has great skills but i think his chin will let him down when he mixes it with the best crop of Welterweights. What do you guys think will happen when or if he fights Margarito,Mosely,Cotto,Williams,Cintron ?

I say Mosley...Dont count Cintron out due to his losses to Tony...If Kermit goes in with healthy hands he is dangerous...

Williams pot shots Berto into a 7th rd KO....

Cotto breaks the body down and stops him....

    Margarito destroys that weak defense

i say none of them on the basis of me giving mosley the benefit of the doubt for his last fight being down to him thinking he had won it before he got in the ring. the rest, well what daxxy said

I say Mosley and Cintron. Mosley because he's never been effective power-wise at WW and he'd be mixing it up with someone younger, faster and bigger. Mosley might even get KO'd in later rounds (which is why he won't fight him- too high a risk for too little a reward). Cintron is definitely dangerous and a victory over him is not a lock. But Cintron has shown he is breakable and I think Berto's speed and power would carry him through. As for the other guys... Berto needs at least another year before he can compete at their level. But once he gets up there I can see him becoming able to beat all 3. Cotto and Margarito have shown they have trouble with bigger guys and Williams, well, just hope you've caught him on an off night.

I think all of the above beat him right now.....Margarito & Williams badly.Cotto off brutal lose may be a question mark in genereal....as is any fighter after that,Cintron physically outstanding but mentally unsure.Im just not sold on Berto off Showcase oppurtunity fight with Forbes. He really struck me as uncertain and lacks major leauge focus when things got dicey. Why all of the clinching also?

I think he has a good chance against Mosley but the rest knock him out at this stage.

Citron breakable? why because after hitting magarito with everything apart from the kitchen sink for round after round and it doing nothing to stop his non stop onslaught?

Citron would have a big hight and reach adv over berto, and it would make it very very hard for him to get inside those power shots to breat citron down... Factor in bertos weak chin and you have all the makings for an early knock out.

Cintron has solid technical boxing skills and is quick, but he didn't looks so great against Jesse Feliciano in the fight he had before his rematch with Margarito. This all depends on Berto's chin, if he can take a Cintron punch, Cintron may lose. I think Dibella should develop Berto a bit more before putting him in with one of those guys. Have him beat Zab Judah or a Jackson Bonsu or Klose, fight some mandatories etc, before stepping up to the top level.

    I agree with PREME .
Based on what i have seen of Berto i would say they all beat him at this point , which makes a joke of the fact he is WORLD champion .

given time i think he could stand a chance with any of them. tonys any of the welterweights worst nightmare at the moment but if berto fought a smart fight he could stand a chance, the same with cotto. with cintron and williams its hard to say because of cintrons ability to end a fight with one punch (against most guys), and williams huge advantage in size. at this stage i think mosley would be outpointed.

Definitely Citron. Arguments for Mosely are justified, but I still favor him against Berto.

I'd like for him to fight Quentana or Clottey first and then answer this question.

To parrot all the talking heads (and Lou DiBella), I don't think he's ready for that "big fight" yet...

    like everybody else is saying--

    doesn't have great defense.
    too short.
and flat out wouldn't stand a chance against Margarito or Williams, and if Cotto isn't ruined after Margarito, he'd beat him to.

I think a Clottey v Berto fight would answer all the questions about both of them.

"...went 12 rounds with Ali, and never took a backwards step."

He will have the potential to beat everyone of them except Margarito, he is too big and strong... that fight really depends on how much Berto's defense improves, how much more movement he is capable of using, and how well he takes punches to the body, if he can take them like Jones or Mayweather he is good to go.
